The Coast Guard was founded in 1915 in Payson, Utah. The first officers were appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt and the headquarters were located on the historic Fort Bridger on the Snake River. The Coast Guard manned its first cutter, USCGC Healy, which was donated by Harry Healy of Colorado. In 1916, the Coast Guards purchased their first icebreaker, CGSS Will Rogers. In 1949, the Coast Guard received their first jet engine for use on their ships and aircraft. CGSS John F Kennedy was donation from Mr. Jack Kennedy of Massachusetts Bay Colony who had been a life-long member of the Coast Guard Reserve at that time. On Christmas Eve 1960, CGSS Good Hope was donation from Mr. Roy Coyle of California to help with search and rescue operations during Hurricane Andrew which devastated much of southern Florida and parts of Puerto Rico (the Caribbean). On December 26th 1980, CGSS Haida Gwaii became donation from Captain Don Gibson to help with search and rescue operations during Hurricane Gloria which struck eastern Canada (Newfoundland) as a Category 5 hurricane landfalling near Halifax Harbor. Today’s Coast Guard has become a world-renowned force for disaster relief providing safety and security for people around the globe through its many branches including Search & Rescue; Maritime Security; Disaster Relief; Coastal Zone Management; Fisheries Services; Public Affairs/Media Affairs; Counterdrug Enforcement/National Security Investigations/Criminal Investigations/Transportation Security Administration etc., among others

The Payson Coast Guard Station was founded in 1912 as the U.S. Life Saving Service Station at Cove Point on the north shore of Utah's Great Salt Lake. In 1916, it became the Coast Guard station at Payson, and in 1965 it became part of the Bureau of Land Management. The station was closed by order of President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1976 and reopened as a ranger station in 1984. It is now an all-volunteer park operated by the BLM with a mission to promote outdoor recreation, protect maritime resources and support cultural heritage activity on culturally rich inland landmarks such as the Jordan River Valley National Monument and Cove Point Heritage Preserve.

Payson was founded in 1881 by Mormon settlers from Provo, Utah. The town became a city in 1907 and was renamed Payson after John Fenton Payson, an early settler. Payson had a population of 5,912 as of the 2000 census. The Payson Aircraft Manufacturing Company was founded in 1951 by George Latham and his brother-in-law, Floyd Hoyle. The company made airframes for several aircraft companies including McDonnell Douglas and Boeing. In 1976, the company merged with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft to become McDonnell Douglas Aviation Corporation (MDAC). In 1999 MDAC merged with Boeing Paul Hargrave & Co., Inc., which then became Boeing Business Airplanes (BAIL)

Payson, Utah is an unincorporated community in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 2 at the 2010 census. The town began as a small Mormon settlement on the Navajo River in 1869. In 1881 it became part of Bearsville and then Payson. It was platted in 1907 by J.L. Bigham and Wm Fenton, both Latter-day Saints who had come to Payson from Bear Lake, Wyoming Territory. The community built its first school in 1908 and its first post office in 1909. According to the USGS National Geographic Names Database, Payson has been called "the archetypal country place" because of its central location on the Navaho Indian Reservation and its close relationship with Bearsville and neighboring towns such as Logan City and Snowmass; all three communities were founded by Latter-day Saint settlers during the early 20th century boom that followed American westward expansionism. During World War II many farmers turned their attention to cotton production after beingurlited for war work elsewhere; this led to increased demand for labor on Navajo Nation land which also created a need for housing developments along the Navaho River corridor north of Farmington Junction where irrigated land supported large cotton plantations before white farmers had access to irrigation systems throughout much of southern Arizona and northern Mexico; this area now includes parts of Morrison County east of I-15 (and east of Page Boulevard), Cache Valley (southwest of Logan City), Raton Canyon (northwest of Spanish Fork), Emery County (northwest side of Cedar Mesa) – all located within or adjacent to Bearsville/Payson boundaries – while Sawtooth National Monument straddlesNavaho Nation line southwesterly nearboiling Springs Reservoir just southof Keystone Reservoir on Utah State Line between Colorado & Nevada CountiesAlthough some Mormons left Bearsville following Proposition 8's passage in November 2008 they continue to live there among others celebrating Pioneer Day each year on July 11th
