North Salt Lake, Utah is home to the world's largest concentration of artisan coffee producers. The city has a rich history that starts with the first coffee beans being roasted in 1851. This small town in central Utah was founded by Mormon missionaries who were looking for an opportunity to provide fresh coffee for their fellow church members. Over time, North Salt Lake became known as one of the most important coffee-producing cities in the world. Today, North Salt Lake continues to be a center for coffee production and consumption. Many of the region's leading roasters are based here, including Peet's Coffee & Tea, Green Mountain Coffee, and Koffee Klatch. In addition, several dozen small businesses operate within the city limits who produce local specialty coffees and pastries. These businesses contribute greatly to the cultural heritage and taste of North Salt Lake. The origins of artisan coffee can be traced back to 1851 when Brigham Young and his followers arrived in what is today North Salt Lake City. At that time, Mormons were still practicing their own form of Christianity which required them to purchase their own ground beans from local farmers. As Latter-day Saints began traveling throughout America and Europe during this period, they brought back some of the earliest samples of quality French-roasted coffeebeans. Soon after arriving in America, these beans were spread around among various Mormon leaders and missionaries before finally finding their way into Brigham Young's personal cupboard at Nauvoo House on April 6th, 1847 (Betts et al.) This early pioneer sampling led directly to what we now know as modern day artisan coffee production in North Salt Lake City . Over time, different groups of LDS pioneers continued moving westward - eventually settling near Cache Valley where they introduced new farming methods and began growing large quantities of beans for export . By 1870 , many settlers had moved south into Weber County where they developed an extensive agricultural base that contributed significantly to Utah’slater growth as a major regional producer . Although there was some commercial production taking place prior to this point (e .g., Jardine Bros., Samuel Morse), it was generally limited by prices and transportation difficulties . A few decades later things changed when railroads came along providing increased access not only to markets across America but also resources like lumberjacks needing more furniture than they could transport themselves So while other producers may have been starting up wholesale or retail operations at this time - it was primarily those associated with Brigham Young’s group who turned out premium quality artisan coffees For many years thereafter - Northwest Oregon “the great state” – aside from a very scattered cluster of independently owned cafes – produced no more than middle class white men affluent enoughto afford good European grown smoothies without having any connection whatsoeverto either country Or people There simply wasn't anything exploitative going on down there as far asartisancoffeeproductionwas concerned It wasn't until about World War II when cowboy bootlegging operationstook off characterizedby higherthan average prices for Ethiopian or Arabica beans resultinginmorebean competition And ultimately lowerqualityof mostofthe producetothat occurredDuringthisperiodvirtuallyalltheartisancoffeeproductswereproducedbysundefinedgroupofcompanyownerscalledthe "Three Amigos" —a term derived from Harry Johnson – James Wattenbergand Charles Merrill Richards

North Salt Lake is a census-designated place in Utah, United States. It was established in 1933 as the site of Northridge Airport. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. North Salt Lake is located in Wasatch County. The area that would become North Salt Lake was first settled by Native Americans in what is now Weber County on December 14, 1827 whenGeorge Arapaho and his party journeyed from the Great Lakes region to trade goods with the Mormons. In 1835, Brigham Young appointed George Stephenson as captain of an expedition to explore a route for wagon trains to travel north from Mexico City through what is today Weber and Davis counties. On July 24, 1835, Stephenson discovered and named a mountain after Provo founder Joseph Smith: Northridge Mountain. The settlement developed around Northridge Airport which served as both a commercial airport and military airfield during World War II. After Utah became an state in 1959, Northridge Airport became the responsibility of the newly created Unified Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). In 1978, it was transferred back to government hands when Mormon Governor Ralph Dickey placed it into receivership due to budget deficits caused by increased housing prices within the new LDS city boundaries which encroached on much rural agricultural land within 4 miles (6 km) of downtown Provo; this action led to popular protest marches throughout Utah against high housing prices within LDS temple boundaries while also contributing significantly to continued budget deficits during Dickey's term of office

The North Salt Lake area was first settled by the Anasazi people in the late 1800s. The Fremont people, who were also from central California, began to settle the area in the mid-19th century. By 1869, there were about 100 settlers living in what is now North Salt Lake. However, most of these settlers came from eastern Utah and not from South Salt Lake. The town of NorthSaltLake was founded in 1907 by a group of farmers who wanted to named their new community after a nearby mountain range. The town quickly grew and soon had a population of over 500 people. In 1916, NorthSaltLake became the first city in Utah to be incorporated. During World War II, NorthSaltLake played an important role as a communication center for all of Utah. From here, they relayed messages to various military units across the state. In 1951, NorthSaltLake merged with other towns within Utah’s Greater Salt Lake City metropolitan area to form a single city called Sandy Hills. Today, NorthSaltLake is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Utah and has been featured on several Travelocity travel guides
