Midvale is a town in Carbon County, Utah, United States. The population was 9,512 at the 2010 census. Midvale is located on the Wasatch Front and is bordered by Cedar City to the east, Cache Valley to the northeast, American Fork to the northwest, and Spanish Fork to the west. The town's name comes from "midland" meaning "between two mountains." The first post office in Midvale was established in 1877. In 1905, Midvale became a city and has since grown rapidly with annexations from other towns in Carbon County. On November 1, 2009, Midvale became a part of Salt Lake City metropolitan area as part of an agreement between Utah's two largest cities. According to the United States Census Bureau, Midvale has a total area of , of which is land and is water.
