The first espresso in Midvale, Utah was served in a small coffee shop called The Coffee Shop on Main Street in 1978. The business was started by two friends, Tom and Jerry Steenburgen, who had been working at the same hardware store. They knew that they could make great espresso using beans from their own farmhouse roasting operation. In 1984, the first espresso machine was bought by the local grocery store and operated under the name of Joe's Coffee & Tea. In 1990, Midvale Coffee Company opened its doors with a large-scale roast lab and tasting room located on Main Street in downtown Midvale. That same year, the company introduced its first automatic drip coffee maker. From then until 2003, Midvale Coffee Company ran its own marketing department which created and distributed flyers and advertising throughout town to try to attract customers to its establishments. In 2002, Open Range Brewing Co., predecessor of Iron Chef Brewery LLC purchased all of Midvale Coffee Company's assets including their roast lab and tasting room. Since then, Open Range has been responsible for growing and expanding both their brewing operations as well as their retail presence throughoutMidvale town center with several new restaurants opening up along the way! In 2017 Open Range closed down one of their restaurants in order to focus more on expanding into other markets!
Midvale is a town in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 5,921 at the 2010 census. Midvale is located on the east side of Kane County and is bordered by Cedar City to the south and west, Prosser to the north, Logan to the east and south, and Spanish Fork to the north-east. It has a total area of 26 square miles (71 km²). The first European settlers in Midvale were Smith and Wesson merchants who arrived in 1847. In 1850, John Clements Sr., an early Mormon scout leader, bought some land in what is now Midvale from Jacob Sheets. He named his land "Midvale" after one of his scouting expeditions that reached this location near present day Cedar City on November 2nd of that year. The first post office was established in Midvale on February 17th of 1851 under the name West Jordan Station. On July 1st of 1870 it became part of Kane County when it was annexed by Salt Lake City. In 1896 Brigham Young organized a new ward - LDS Church's Second Ward - within what is now Midvale; this ward boundaries would eventually become those of Park Hills wards today. Bryce Easley served as bishop for First Ward from 1998 until his death in 2001; during that time he oversaw much church growth throughout Kane County which included developing many LDS housing developments like Glenwood Gardens and Centennial Heights as well as helping bring about major changes to Temple Square landscape including construction of Millennium Park across Main Street from Joseph Fielding Smith Library/Museum which opened on October 3rd 2002 In January 2009 Bishop Easley's successor Tom Jensen announced plans for completion of two adjacent blocks adjacent to First Ward boundary: One block will house approximately 200 worshipers at First Southwark Parish Hall while another block will house approximately 150 worshipers at Second Northark Parish Hall with future plans for additional housing development on either side should occupancy reach 100% over six years or less! With such rapid growth there have been numerous noted problems with sewage systems not keeping up with population growth along with scarce public transportation options available especially outside downtown where much shopping & dining takes place currently! Furthermore rapid annexation by other municipalities has resulted in nearly doubling (and even quadrupling) tax rates without corresponding comparable increases in services or infrastructure availability making it difficult for residents anywhere inside or beyond downtown Kane county anymore even beforeTax hikes rumored for coming year
