The Coast Guard has been providing security and aid to the people of Midvale, Utah since 1912. In that time, they have provided many unique gifts to the community. One of the most memorable gifts was a motorboat donated by Commodore John W. Weeks in 1922. This boat allowed for easy access to the significant coastline in Midvale and made it possible for people to enjoy fishing, boating, and other activities without having to worry about getting lost or wetting their pants. Since then, Coast Guard gift history has included a variety of equipment and memorabilia that has been appreciated by residents and visitors alike. Some of the more notable items include: a $5,000 donation from Donny Osmond in 1975 for an ice-skating rink; a $25,000 donation from Herb Kapp in 1994 for new guard towers; and a $100,000 donation from Dick Cheney in 2006 for a Sheriff’s Office annex on Park Street. Despite all the good that Coast Guard gift history has done for Midvale over the years, there is still one special memory that stands out above all others. In 2012, Midvale became home to The Cove - an outdoor amphitheater designed specifically for hosting music events such as rock concerts and comedy shows. The Cove was completelyfunded by donations from local businesses and citizens who saw its potential as an entertainment destination that would bring muchneeded tourism dollars into the town. Nowadays, The Cove is used not just by locals but also tourists from all over Utah who come to experience one of Midvale’s biggest attractions!

The Midvale Coast Guard Station was established in 1922. It is the oldest coast guard station in Utah and one of the first in the state. The station provides rescue, security, environmental monitoring, andautical services to residents along the Wasatch Front.
Midvale is a city in Utah, United States. The population was 27,829 at the 2010 census. Midvale is located in Logan County. Midvale is bordered by Cache Valley to the south and east, Sandy Valley to the north and west, and Spanish Fork to the northwest. The first permanent settler in what would become Midvale was Amos Redding in 1847. In 1863, David Murdoch bought 6 acres of land from John Cottenham for $200 cash. Murdoch built a cabin on his property which he named "Murdoch's Cabin". The town began as a small rural community with a few homes and businesses. By 1870, however, Murdoch's cabin had been replaced bywhat would become Midvale's first post office: "Midvale" was spelled incorrectly as "Midvale" on an early map of the area (the correct spelling being "Cache Valley"). By 1890, there were over 100 buildings within 1½ miles of each other in what is now Midvale; this growth was due largely to transportation advances such as streetcars that linked these buildings together along major routes like Main Street (now US- numbered 20) or Indianola Avenue (now I-15). By 1910, when the census was taken, there were over 300 residents living in Midvale! This rapid growth led to the incorporation of Midvale into Logan County on December 12, 1912. What followed were years of steady growth for both citizens and businesses alike; during World War II many companies moved their operations intoMidvale because of its strategic location at one crossroads connecting Cache Valley to Salt Lake City and providing easy access to markets all across Utah. Afterward things slowed down slightly but never stopped overall economic growth until today when it has reached yet another level with nearly 3000 residents!

Some examples include: The U.S.-Japan Binocular Exchange Programme; The George Washington Carver Marine Mammal Research Project; The Helicopter Maritime Rescue Service; Mount Desert Island Wildlife Refuge - home to over 50 species of marine mammals including bottlenose dolphins and harbour seals); Southern California Aquarium - give your favorite pet a new home among several hundred fish (including some very large ones); and many others!

The town's growth continued during the years leading up to the American Civil War, with Midvale becoming one of the most heavily fortified towns in Utah. By 1865, Midvale had a population of 10,000 people and was considered to be one of the most important cities in Utah. However, during the war Midvale experienced severe damage, including loss of many homes and businesses. After the war ended, Midvale slowly recovered as new businesses began to open up and residents resumed their normal lives. In 1967, Midvale became an incorporated city. Today, Midvalde has a population of over 20 thousand people and is one of the most vibrant communities in Utah.
