Army gift history in Midvale, Utah began with the arrival of the Mormon Battalion on July 26, 1847. The battalion was composed of Mormon pioneers who had left Nauvoo, Illinois, to fight for the United States in the Mexican-American War. Upon their return to Utah, they organized a militia and named it the Midvale Riflemen. In 1867, they changed their name to the Midvale Volunteer Infantry and participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) during World War I. After the war, they again changed their name to the Midvale Regiment and served in World War II as part ofOperation Overlord. The regiment was disbanded after World War II but reorganized as an infantry brigade in 1948 and again became an infantry brigade in 1952 before being redesignated as an army reserve unit in 1957. Today, Midvale Army Reserve Unit is still active and provides military support to local communities throughout Utah.

The Utah Army National Guard's Midvale, Utah Headquarters and Headquarters Company was organized on July 1, 1903. This company became the first unit in the state to be activated for service during World War I. On December 16, 1917, this company was reorganized as the first all-volunteer infantry battalion of the Utah Infantry Brigade and assigned to the United States First Division. The brigade fought in France and Belgium until October 1918 when it was disbanded and its units returned home. The battalion met again on November 10th 1919 when it was reactivated as part of a new brigade in order to provide security for Brigham Young University (BYU) during a student strike. The battalion served with distinction until 1933 when it was disbanded again because of budget cuts. On February 7, 1951, this battalion re-emerged from hibernation and participated in Desert Shield/Desert Storm as an all-volunteer artillery regiment attached to U S Forces Korea. After completing their tour at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam near Honolulu they returned home on April 15th 1951 after months of deployment around the world including Operation Viking which replaced French forces in North Africa following that country's Liberation from Nazi occupation.Following their return home this unit underwent several name changes before reaching its present designation known today as "the 1st Battalion (Utah) Infantry Regiment".
Midvale is a town in Utah, United States. The population was 5,529 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Utah after Cedar City and is the seat of Midvale County. Midvale straddles a line between the Wasatch Mountains on one side and the Salt Lake Valley on the other. Midvale was founded in 1847 by George Midvale as a trading post between St.George and Provo across what are now Weber County and Davis County. Midvale's first store opened in 1859. In 1870, George Wickersham donated land to make up what is now Midvale Square, which became its central business district. The name "Midvale" originated from when residents would meet at the square for noon mealsations or dances called "midvales." The current downtown area was built following World War II when Midvale became an important military base because of its strategic location at exit 8 of Interstate 15 south of Salt Lake City. Many midwesterners moving into Utah during this time found work at nearby Boeing plants or served in our military forces overseas while others established small businesses such as Hardware Unlimited, Jiffy Lube, and Weiser Chevrolet until they left for good during the late 1960s when I-15 construction began to take off In 1966, Latter-day Saint Brigham Young University (BYU) moved from Provo to East Sidney where it joined Intermountain Life Insurance Company campus before finally departing again for Provo's newly renovated LDS Church Campus Annex building which housed both BYU's School of Medicine During my visit to MIDVALE I felt that even though it has had some hard times over recent years there are many people who have worked so hard to make things right for their community The economy has been improving recently with new development being announced within walking distance of MIDVALE including retail anchors such as Walmart Supercenter; restaurants like Albertsons/ Safeway; bars like Red Lobster/ Local 4 etc.; office space being leased near major intersections making it easy access to jobs no matter where you live

The Mormons built their first school in 1849, and within two years they had a Methodist church established too. In 1861, Midvale became the county seat of Carbon County, Utah. This move helped to consolidate local government throughout Carbon County and increased its importance as a commercial center. In 1865, Midvale also saw its first oil well drilled; this led to an increase in business activity and development in the town. By 1870, Midvale had become one of the most important towns in Utah. The growth of Midvale continued into the 21st century; during 2001-2005 it experienced an influx of new residents thanks to the opening of Interstate 15 (I-15). This highway made travel between other nearby towns much easier, and also allowed for more commerce to take place within Midvale itself. As a result,Midvale has seen significant growth over the past few decades – but there is still much left to explore and achieve when it comes to its history!
Midvale is a census-designated place in Moffat County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,277 at the 2010 census. Midvale is located on the eastern edge of the Salt Lake Valley and is bordered by Cache Valley to the north, South Sevier County to the east, Carboniferous Mesa to the south and west, and Allred Park to the northwest.
