Logan has been through many changes over the years including annexation into Price County (1865), change from township to rural municipality (1910), establishment as an unincorporated community within Cache Valley (1921), designation as a city (January 1st 1922), and apostasy from Mormonism which led to its dissolution as an incorporated city on January 1st 1988 under state law defined at that time as "a political subdivision having municipal powers and consisting entirely or nearly entirely of Latter-day Saints." The most recent incarnation for Logan began when it became part of Carbon County after being designated as such on October 14th 1997 pursuant to ยง14-3-401 et seq., Utah Code Ann., relating to county organization since 1987 when townships ceased being existent within counties following passage Of Senate Bill #92 which provided for separate government for LDS Church members residing outsideOf Jerusalem During this time period much progress has been made including creation/funding for park system including new elementary/middle/high schools; renovation/construction of many homes & businesses; installationof new street lights throughout town; establishmentof numerous job opportunities across various sectors including hospitality industry; erection&maintenance OF public buildings such as library & courthouse complex along With numerous other projects funded thru special Acts passed thru both houses Of Legislature
