In 1924, it became part of the Navajo Nation and has since been inhabited by numerous Native American nations including Paiute, Shoshone, Ute and Arapaho tribes as well as Muslim refugees from Arabia. In February 2008, Mormon missionaries were killed while proselytizing for their church in Logan after being stopped by Indian police on suspicion of religion-based espionage.
