In the early 1900s, Marines were stationed in Logan, Utah. The Marine Barracks there was one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Visitors would come to see the cannons and weaponry that were used by the Marines. They also would visit the marines who lived and worked in the barracks. The Marine Barracks also played a significant role in history because it was where General George Custer was killed during his attack on Sitting Bull’s Sioux nation in 1875. It is also where President John F Kennedy was shot at Dallas Airport on November 22, 1963.
The Marine Corps Deployed Gift Program is a unique and appreciated outreach program that helps Marines in their deployment experience. The program provides donated items and services to Marines stationed abroad, as well as the families of Marines who are deployed. The program was created in 1998 to help ensure that Marines have everything they need while they are away from home. Through the program, we provide donated items such as clothing, tools, food, bedding, and other necessary items. We also provide service such as translating materials for Marines in their local language or providing transportation tolocal stores. Through this unique initiative, we hope to raise awareness about our military and support our troops during their time of need. We appreciate all that the Marine Corps Deployed Gift Program has done for us over the years and look forward to continue providing valuable resources to our troops overseas.
1st Marine Division, 1944-1945 The 1st Marine Division was deployed to Okinawa in 1945 as part of the United States War Department's Operation Neptune’s Spear. The division fought in the Battle of Okinawa and helped liberate the island from Japanese forces. After World War II, the 1st Marine Division served in various campaigns and missions throughout Southeast Asia before being disbanded in 1951. 2nd Marine Division, 1959-1960 The 2nd Marine Division was activated on September 9, 1959 at Quantico, Virginia as a reserve unit for Marines Corps Reserve units serving in Japan during the Korean War. The division served honorably until its disbandment on April 15, 1960.
Logan, Utah is a town in Summit County, Utah, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Logan is located on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Range and is bordered by Carbon County to the east and south, Park County to the west and north, and Weber County to the northwest. Logan was founded in 1872 as a small community on Cache River. In 1907 it became a city.

Logan is a small town in Utah, located about 25 miles west of the state capital, Salt Lake City. It was founded in 1847 by John A. Logan and his wife, Mary Jane. The town originally consisted of just a few hundred people. Logan grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s as a result of its location on the Great Western Railroad and its close proximity to other railroad towns such as Provo and Ogden. The population of Logan peaked at around 8,000 in 1920, but has since declined significantly due to various factors including the decline of the rail industry in Logan and general population growth in surrounding counties. Logan is designated as a National Historic Landmark (NHL) because it is one of only two communities in Utah that have been designated as such by the United States government. The other community is Provo. The town was named for John A. Logan, who was an entrepreneur who built up businesses in various parts of Utah before moving to Logan in 1847 to start his own cattle ranching business. In addition to his cattle ranching business, John A. Logan also began developing land near present-day Logan into what would become one of the largest cotton plantations ever created in Utah Territory. The plantation eventually became part of the Union Pacific Railroad system and remains significant today thanks to its history and architecture
Logan was founded on February 14, 1847, by Brigham Young and his followers as a settlement in Bearskin Gulch. It has been the home of many Latter-day Saint leaders, including Brigham Young, Joseph Smith, Sidney Rigdon, and Nephi Vilate. Logan was also the site of the first United States Congress.
