In 1916, the Engelbrechts sold their farm to Wernher Plattner, who continued to grow and sell coffee until his death in 1961.
The first time Logan saw coffee was during World War I when it was used as an emergency fuel for artillery batteries on the Pacific Coast. After the war ended, local farmers took up planting and harvesting beans. By 1922-23, there were more than 25 cafes in town and most of them belonged to Germans or Slovaks who had moved into Logan from other parts of America while looking for work or opportunities that didn’t exist here. The first Italian cafe opened here in 1924 and by 1931 all but six businesses were Italian-owned or operated by Italians themselves!

In 1851, Mormon pioneers arrived at what is now downtown Logan and began construction on mills which would power the community for years to come. These mills were later enlarged into large factories which continue to produce products today including clothing, paper products, tires and other machinery. Logan’s growth continued during World War II as it became an important stopover for troops traveling between Salt Lake City and points eastward during the war effort. The inhabitants helped build military barracks here as well as supply convoys travelling along I-15 corridor. After the war ended in 1945, many residents decided to return home while others moved into neighboring towns such as Iron Mountain or Provo because of new opportunities available there postwar. By 1970 however, only 1 percent of the population still lived here; most had relocated elsewhere within Salt Lake County or else moved outside Utah altogether due to changing economic conditions throughout much of the early 21st century[1]. Today’s economy in Logan revolves largely around its location: It sits on a major road linking two big cities – Salt Lake City proper and Ogden – making it both attractive for businesses looking for access to customers statewide but also ideal for commuters heading northward or southward on I-15 each day[2]. This proximity has led to increased retail diversity since 2000,[3] with several high-end stores opening up over time such as Nordstrom Rack[4], Saks Fifth Avenue[5], Macy’s,[6] Sears[7], JCPenney [8], Neiman Marcus [9], plus more traditional retailers like Walmart,[10] KFC,[11],[12],[13],[14],[15]Target ([16]), Dollar Tree ([17])and Home Depot ([18]). A mention of espresso can be found in Ibn Ezra’s openseance (Book Viii) from c 600 AD where he writes about Turkish traders travelling through Persia who tasted Arab brewed teas but did not like its strong flavor because they associated Arabic spices with Turkish tea! Aramaic script writings dating back to 350 BC mention black pepper mixed with ginger having been used as adulterants for Arabian winesback then! It was only after Columbus discovered America that Europeans began importing whole beans instead of just ground tea! And thus began our current era where nearly every country on Earth enjoys some form of cupof Joe/Kopi at least once in each year!
