The Utah Air National Guard's 432nd Airlift Wing provides lift to special operations forces throughout the state. Its history stretches back to World War II, when the wing was activated as a bomber squadron. During the Cold War, the wing served as an airlift and tanker unit, flying Boeing 727 aircraft. After the fall of communism in 1991, the 432nd Airlift Wing transitioned to Douglas C-130J aircraft for missions in support of Operation Northern Watch and Operation Desert Storm. In 2006, the 432nd Airlift Wing became part of The Joint Forces Air Component Command's 4th Airlift Brigade which made it one of only two wings in The Joint Forces Air Component Command that is both a fighter and an airlift wing. Today, the 432nd Airlift Wing flies transports for Unified Combatant Commands such as United States Central Command and United States Pacific Command.
Lehi was born on May 12, 1847, in the ancient town of Ur of the Chaldeans. The town was located near modern-day Lehi about 120 miles SSE of Salt Lake City and 5 miles WNW of Provo. It is one of the oldest towns in Utah. The first settlers in what would become Lehi were families from Jerusalem who arrived in 1849. They named their new settlement after a hill in Jerusalem that they saw while on a visit to that city. In 1850, Brigham Young led a group of pioneers westward and founded the city of Zion on Mount Carmel (now known as Independence Hill). This group also included many refugees from Palestine who had fled during the years following Israel's independence from Britain. The original Zion Hotel still stands today and is used as an event center by local businesses. The early days at Lehi were difficult for those living there because it was located so close to civilization and there was no water available for agriculture or drinking. However, through hard work and determination, progress was made over time. In 1865, Brigham Young organized a township which became Lehi Township Airmail Terminal Company Ltd., which operated a mail service between Salt Lake City and Provo via Twin Peaks Summit Station (now known as Sandy Mountain). Thelda Jean Richards married her husband Roy Eldred Richards on November 3rd 1907 at Mormon Temple #1 with all participants present including Roy’s father Orson Hyde Richards Sr.. She bore him two children: Hyrum L Tom Kimball Richards (1908-1981) & Nauvoo Hancock Richards (1910-1987). There are several other related families listed below but this will do for now!

The purpose of this aircraft was not simply bombing targets but also conveying President Harry Truman and other high-ranking officials around America without having them have to travel through roadblocks or being harassed by protesters at airports. This plane has been seen as a symbol of American power throughout history. In 1961, President John F Kennedy authorized Operation Neptune’s Spear which saw overflights by United States Air Forces over Cuba in an effort to establish good relations with Fidel Castro’s government. This event marked a turning point in US- Cuban relations which are still today one of the most hostile relationships between countries in world history. After 9/11/2001 attacks on New York City and Washington D C, Congress passed The Military Appropriations bill which allocated more than $640 million dollars towards military spending worldwide including over $100 million for Afghanistan specifically; this money was used originally to purchase weapons systems meant for use against Afghanistan but later became embroiled in controversy after investigations revealed that these systems were being used instead against Iraq following their invasion of Kuwait).
