The first coffeeshop in town was opened in 1978 by Rick and Kathy Heuser. Rick and Kathy originally made their own beans and espresso, but soon found out that they needed more space so they moved the shop to the current location on South First Street.

Kaysville is a small town in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden metropolitan area. Kaysville is one of the few remaining businesses in the old downtown core since it closed its doors in 2009. The first settler in what is now Kaysville was David Whitcomb and his family who came from Massachusetts in 1847. They built a log cabin on the east side of Missouri River which they named "Whitcomb's Fort". David Whitcomb died soon after moving there and his wife, Sally Whitcomb, took over running the fort until her death in 1850. Their son Jacob Whitman also moved to Kaysville about this time and became an early postmaster and justice of peace. In 1857 Jepson Gidney purchased some land southwest of present-day Kaysville from Samuel McCoy for $2 per acre (the equivalent of $ today). Gidney founded the first school here - called Gidney Academy - which opened in November 1857 with eleven students. For many years it served as both a day school and high school for local farmers and ranchers as well as providing instruction to children from nearby towns such as Cedar City, Orem, Provo, Cottonwood Heights, West Liberty and other villages within easy driving distance. The original building still stands on Gidney Academy property just south of Interstate 15 near Easton Drive; it has been renovated several times but remains intact including its beautiful gabled roofline and full-time use as a private residence. In 1915 local entrepreneur George Hildebrandt donated 132 acres (50 ha) northwest of present-day Kaysville to be used for agricultural research by US University at Bears Ears – later renamed US University at Utah Valley (later UTU). Under Hildebrandt's leadership UVC developed into one of America's preeminent agricultural universities with programs leading to doctorates in agriculture, forestry & fisheries; food science & technology; engineering; medicine; nursing/psychiatry/rehabilitation; public health (& environmental studies); accounting & financial analysis; business administration & entrepreneurship
