Navy deployments have a long and rich history in Utah. The Navy has been present in Holladay for over 50 years, and the town is home to one of the largest Naval Air Station complexes in the nation. Naval air stations are located all around Utah, and Holladay is no exception; it is home to NAS Delta Vlanden and NAS Fallon. The Navy presence in Holladay dates back to World War II. The USS Lexington was stationed here during World War II, and USS Utah was also based here for a time. In 1945, NAS Fallon was established as part of Operation Damocles: The Invasion of Japan. This operation saw the activation of six naval airfields across Utah: NAS Fallon, NAS Delta Vlanden, NAS Grand Forks Island, NAS Prosser Island, NORAD HQ at Fort Bliss (later Randolph AFB), and RAF Mildenhall (later RAF Coningsby). During the Cold War era, Naval Air Station Holladay played an important role in providing support for USAF operations in Europe. From 1974-1987, NAVAIR's Flying Training Unit 1 operated from this facility; FTVU 1 became operational on May 1st 1974 under Lieutenant Commander Leland Jinks Jr.; its first student aircraft were Cessna 152s! FTVU 1 provided undergraduate pilot training to fighter pilots from both NATO allies and non-NATO members who flew missions over Belgium/the Netherlands/Germany/France/Italy etc., using aerial refueling facilities at RAF Mildenhall or USAAF Fairchild AFB between 1958-1974].] Since the early 1990s however there has been significant growth within Naval Air Station Holladay – with installation of new hangars (including a helipad), expansion of the airport complex housing some 60 aviation jobs,[2][3], increasedutorial programs[4],andtheinstallationofan Electric Power Helicopter squadron which provides emergency medical services to veterans throughout western UT.] In recent years we have seen even more activity within Naval Air Station Holladay as part of Joint Base Hawaii's expanding mission – including construction of an Aviation Maintenance hangar adjacent to aloft taxiway A1.[5][6] We now enjoy a vibrant community that supports our military with activities ranging from boating excursions on Lake Powell[7]to participatinginNaval Symposiums all across America[/8].

Holladay, Utah is a city in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Provo–Orem– Sandy Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Holladay is first mentioned in 1847 as "Hollenbeck", and was named after Charles Holladay, an American fur trader who had married Sarah Prentiss of Ogden in 1827. Holladay was founded by John C. Fremont on November 15, 1847 as the first wagon town west of the Rocky Mountains. The town rapidly grew to become one of the most important stations on the Great Western Trail. In 1870 it became a telegraph center for central Utah and served as relay point between Salt Lake City and Provo.[1] In 1907 Holladay incorporated as a city and began construction of its current downtown core which included a new municipal building and up to eight other buildings including two churches (The Methodist Episcopal Church (1893) and Zion Presbyterian Church (1915)), four schools (John C. Fremont High School(1892), Brigham Young University-Hawaii Campus(1910), Weber State College(1920)) and four businesses: The Armoury & Provision Store(1890), Wagon Wheel Dairy & Grain Exchange(1907), Hyrum Gas Company(1912) and Zion National Park Service Visitor Center& Visitors’ Center.(1990).[2] Holladay has experienced significant growth over the years due to its location within easy reach of both major metropolitan areas in North America – Provo/Orem area with residents from all fifty states[3][4]and Salt Lake City with residents from all thirty-six U.S. states[5][6]), its topography that offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation,[7] its strong community spirit,[8]its wide range of cultural attractions such as three museums,[9][10][11], five theaters,[12] sixteen restaurants[13], six grocery stores[14], two professional sports teams (Utah Jazz Basketball Club/Utah Stars FC)[15],[16])and its growing economy based on education, healthcare services, government employment, manufacturing,[17],[18],[19],[20].

The navy is now an important part of our society and provides us with services such as security, defense, humanitarian assistance and more.
The USS Constitution (1776-1815) was the first U.S. warship to be deployed in the War of 1812. She served as flagship of Commodore John Rodgers's United States Naval Forces in that war, and participated in several engagements.
Holladay, Utah is a small town in the United States located in Kane County. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. Holladay is named after pioneer George Holladay and his family who settled in the area in 1847. The Holladays were one of the first Mormon settlers in Kane County. George's grandson, Brigham Young, founded the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS church) here in 1869. The LDS church moved its headquarters to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1912. The Holladay community began as a farming village that grew around a big sawmill on Clear Creek. In 1874, Harry Wirth built a store and post office hereabouts and started selling goods to farmers and other travelers along Clear Creek Road (now US-6). By 1880, Wirth had two stores and 10 residents hereabouts. By 1890, there were six stores and 100 residents hereabouts; all but one were operated by men from outside Kane County. In 1902, when Logan was incorporation into Kane County, Holladay became part of that new municipality. It continued to be an agricultural center with about seventy farms providing crops for local families until World War II when industry took over most of the town’s economy; however agriculture still remains an important part of life today with many large gardens dotting the landscape near Main Street where shoppers can buy produce from local vendors during summertime markets set up throughout downtown every Saturday morning since 2006 (www.holladanewsweeklynewsletter_Oct2006). One original resident of Hollydale Village died suddenly on July 26th 1922 while on vacation at his home across Clear Creek Valley just south of town limits; he was only fifty seven years old! Another original resident also passed away suddenly - Mrs Lotta Hite - on October 5th 1933 while visiting her granddaughter Joanne east side at their home northeast of town limits; she was only seventy one years old! Hollydale Village Store opened its doors November 9th 1901 by JB Gentry as our very own store fronting Main Street between Hollydale Cemetery adjacent west side & Ira Gentry's farm north side serving customers right thru out this entire early 20th century era @ 453 Main St which was then later razed due to fire damage caused by a tornado outbreak 2 yrs earlier !! This amazing 7 yr old story has been turned into history now !!!
Holladay was founded in 1847 by John Holladay and his wife, Sarah. The town was named for General Brigham Young and the Holladay family's generosity to the town in memory of their father. The first post office was established in 1849, and the first store opened in 1850. In 1860, Holladay had a population of 400 people and two stores. In 1865, Holladay became a city and it remained that way until 1971 when it merged with Cedar City to form the current city of Cedar City.
