The Coast Guard was first organized in 1924 in Farmington, Utah. The Coast Guard has since grown to be one of the most important aspects of public safety on the East and West Coasts of America. The service provides a wide range of services, from search and rescue to transportation and protection. In addition to its core duties as a maritime patrol service, the Coast Guard also conducts various other missions including coastal security, environmental protection, and humanitarian assistance. Today, the Coast Guard operates more than 5,000 vessels and shore stations across the United States. These assets include over 1,500 helicopters and planes which are used for Search And Rescue (SAR), law enforcement purposes, disaster relief, surface transport operations such as fishing and hydropower generation projects, visitor assistance programs, and homeland security missions. Additionally, there are numerous unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that allow for an even more comprehensive coverage of our coastline. Throughout its history the Coast Guard has been able to develop strong relationships with local communities across America. This is evident through both operational partnerships and community outreach initiatives. For example, in 1995 the Coast Guard partnered with Salt Lake City’s Park District to create “Cockpit Cay” – an artificial reef off Utah’s coast that helps improve fish populations by reducing predators. In 2006 the Coast Guard partnered withstitial businesses in downtown Farmington to provide holiday cheer for local families during their Christmas season by providing festive fireworks displays from several vessels at Pier 4A near Town Hall plaza. Today there is no doubt that without dedicated members like those who serve on our coasts everyday there would be much less secureEast/West Coasts! Farmington, Utah is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 34,816 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Weber County and home to the University of Utah. Farmington is also the location of one of two airports in Utah – Salt Lake City International Airport and Provo Airport. Founded in 1847 as Fort Bridger by Brigham Young and his followers from Illinois, Farmington became a territorial town in 1850. On July 20, 1912, it merged with Weber County to form the current city of Farmington. The first post office was established at what is now Forest Park on December 3, 1851. The first store was built on Main Street in 1861. At that time there were only fourteen residents living in Farmington when it incorporated as a municipality on February 14, 1904. The growth of FarmINGTON began with the arrival of English settlers during World War I who helped found various businesses and organizations including: The Mormon Tabernacle Choir (1915), American Legion Post 9 (1920), Air Force Base Wing 10 (1927),Utah Army National Guard Armory (1929), Brigham Young University Extension Service (1930), Camp Lowell Homestead(1931) Today's economy revolves around education and healthcare which are both major sectors of its workforce; while other industries include manufacturing and construction along with tourism which has been growing rapidly over recent years due to its natural beauty and history-rich attractions such as Temple Mountain Resort & Spa

Farmington, Utah is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 17,914 at the 2010 census. The city was founded in 1875 by Mormon pioneers and named after Farmington, New Mexico. It was incorporated as a city on November 5, 1886. Farmington became a town on December 15 of that year. On January 2, 1898, it became an independent village when all of Weber County except for Farmington merged into the new state of Utah.
Farmington is a city in Farmington County, Utah, United States. The population was 27,874 at the 2010 census. It is located on the border of the Wasatch Range and Uintah Mountains. The first permanent European settlers in what would become Farmington were French traders who arrived in 1776. They built trading posts along the Weber River and soon realized that agriculture was the best way to exploit these resources. In 1846, Brigham Young appointed George Wickersham as governor of Utah Territory and ordered him to establish a settlement east of Provo called Salt Lake City. Wickersham's expedition traveled northeast and discovered an open land spot on the Great Salt Lake that became Salt Lake City on April 6, 1847. Salt Lake City quickly began to grow due to its location close to navigable water supplies and its ability to receive goodsLUCS from around the world via wagon trains lining up outside of its gates. By 1850, Salt Lake City had become one of the largest cities in America with over 50,000 residents. During this time there were several attempts by Mormons to move westward into what would become California but all failed because of hostile Indian resistance. The last attempt came about 10 years later when Lorenzo Snow led a group of Mormon pioneers across the Great Basin into California in 1849 after finding an opening through which they could travel south without being detected by Mexican authorities
