The history of coffee in Eagle Mountain, Utah began with the first Dutch settlers in the area in the early 1800s. The first coffeehouses opened up and served a variety of different types of coffee. By 1887, there were seven cafes in Eagle Mountain and one grocery store. In 1916, the first coffee shop in Eagle Mountain became known as "The Coffee House". It was run by F.W. Howe and his son-in-law, Rufus Safford. The Coffee House continued to serve quality coffee until it closed its doors in 1957. In 1971, AnheuserBusch took over management of The Coffee House's assets and reopened it as their corporate headquarters for Eagle Mountain operations. They continue to use the building today as their primary marketing office for all of Utah and surrounding areas. Today, The Coffee House is still a popular tourist attraction due to its unique architecture and delicious coffee!
