Clinton, Utah is a town in Cache County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,927 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The first coffee house in Clinton opened on December 12, 1887 by J. W. Boyd and his partners John Hafer and George Prentice. It operated for three years before being closed due to financial difficulties. In 1890 the first grocery store opened in town and it continued to be the mainstay of local economy until 1978 when a new shopping mall was built near the town center. The old grocery building still stands today as a museum dedicated to its history and function as a community center during that time period. In 1938 CLINTON COFFEE HOUSE INC., one of America's largest coffee houses started up shop here in Clinton with an expanded menu of cupcakes, DONuts and other pastries on offer thru out the day! We've been keeping things pretty simple ever since!
