The beans were roasted on their own farms and then brought to town for sale. As the world went through changes during World War II, demand for coffee increased, so more farmers began to grow coffee and sell it commercially. One of the first businesses that bought some of Clearfield's local beans was the Hildebrandt Coffee Company. This business operated from 1918-1920 and produced a blend of strong Turkish ground coffee and Fair Trade roast beans. In the late 1940s, another business owners began purchasing some of Clearfield's local beans. They were called Beta Coffee Company and they produced a blend of strong Colombian ground coffee and Fair Trade roast beans. These businesses operated until around 1970 when they closed their doors due to health concerns related to caffeine levels in their products. In 1984, another small business opened up in Clearfield named Hi-Coffee which became one of the most popular small batch coffee locations in town. Clearfield is a town in Clearfield County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Provo–Orem, UT Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clearfield is located on the Salt Lake Valley floor and has a Mediterranean climate with hotsummer days and cold winter nights. The first people to live in Clearfield were the Paiutes who founded what is now Springdale in 1827. They left behind their culture and tools which are now displayed at Springdale Museum. The next group to arrive were the settlers from Illinois who came in 1847. These men built some of the earliest homes in Clearfield. In 1859, Brigham Young sent his family to settle in what would become Clearfield when he purchased 640 acres adjacent to Springdale from John Sibley for $650$. The town was named after Colonel George Waddell who surveyed Clearfield River for Major General David Whitmer during the Mexican-American War years (1846-48). Colonel Waddell's survey was completed just north of where present day Main Street crosses the river near American Fork Reservoir. After surveying most of Cache Valley and its surroundings, he returned eastward along this route making it possible for Latter Day Saints (LDS) pioneers to travel faster through central Utah than by wagon road from Cedar City or Provo across peaks and valleys that became known as "the Great Salt Lake Valley". Reverend James Fenton established a small schoolhouse near present day Main Street cornering Vineyard Road about 1850 while others erected cabins near Brown's Cabin about 1860; but it appears little use was made of them until 1863 when Fenton dining room opened for one year on First Presidency lot #1 opposite State Capitol building which had been abandoned since November 1861 due to lack of furnishings.. Founding fathers included both Brigham Young (ordained an apostle early in life) – prophet, president & founder of LDS Church – as well as Joshua Kimball (an apostle soon afterwards), Solomon Wells (a member of Quorum of Twelve Apostles), George Atherton (second counselor general under President Joseph Smith III.), Sidney Rigdon and Lorenzo Snow.(See: Listing of leaders associated with founding & early history of ClearFIELD UT .) Pioneer families such as these helped lay down many foundations that still exist today including schools such as Brigham Young Academy®, Draper University®, BYU·Hawaii Polytechnic Institute®, Utah State University® and Weber State University® among others! When whites began moving into this area they started buying property adjoining those already owned by Native Americans thus creating more subdivisions throughout Cache Valley without any regard for traditional village architecture or social customs which led ultimately to several rounds of collisions between cultures/groups resulting often in intermarriage between native women & European men leading eventually - though not always -to resident aliens living amongst us today! All told there are over 100 dwellings extant within our boundaries alone+ additional structures likely destroyed or relocated over time including Mormon Chapel located on UTA land just southwest corner Willow Glen Rd & Hwy 84 closest I‑15 intersection

Clearfield is a small town in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,512 at the 2010 census. It lies on the edge of the Wasatch Range and is surrounded by Richards Mountain National Forest to the north and east, Clear Creek Canyon to the west, and Park City to the south. The first people to live in Clearfield were Mormon pioneers who came from what is now Salt Lake City in 1847-48. They founded a tiny community called Cedar Mesa on Cedar Mesa Creek near today's town center. Cedar Mesa quickly grew into an important trade center for surrounding farmers because of its access to water and good grazing land. The early Clearfield settlers were primarily farmers and ranchers who supplemented their income by raising livestock or mining coal during those early days of Utah Valley settlement. In 1875, John Dutton established Dutton & Company mercantile store in Clearfield which became one of Utah's most successful businesses ever. In 1907, he donated land adjacent to his store lot for a new school district which would later becomeClearfield School District #1 In 1916 John Wittell organized Cement Mines Incorporated which mined limestone in what is today Clearfield In 1934 Clearfield became a municipal city with full power over local affairs In 1951 it merged with Park City as a result of mergers across Weber County
Clearfield was founded in 1847 by Brigham Young and his followers as a Mormon settlement on the Great Salt Lake. The town became an important military and trading center during the Utah War of 1859-1860, and it was also the site of a famous battle between Brigham Young's forces and Mexican cavalry in October 1860. Clearfield subsequently served as a key staging ground for Indian Wars expeditions, and it is today an isolated farming community with a population of about 200.
