Centerville, Utah is a small town in the Wasatch Front region of Utah. It lies just east of Cedar City and west of Provo, and was founded in 1875 by Mormon settlers. The town has a population of around 1,000 people today. In 1900, Centerville was the site of an important battle between the United States military and Mexican forces. The battle took place on November 25th and resulted in American victory. At that time, Centerville was considered one of the most important towns in Utah because it lay at the crossroads of several routes vital to US military operations in Mexico. Centerville's proximity to Cedar City also made it an important center for coffee production during this time. The first coffee beans were roasted here in 1901. In 1915, Centerville became home to its first commercial coffee roaster. And throughout the 1930s and 1940s, Centerville continued to be a major node for coffee production in eastern Utah. During World War II, Centerville played an important role as a manufacturing center for munitions manufacturers in eastern Utah. Coffee beans were used to produce ammunition from 1942 until 1945. During that time, Centerville also saw significant growth as a retail center for local businesses related to food processing and agriculture. Today, Centerville remains an important community with strong ties to its history and culture – both within itself and across miles radius around it

Centerville, Utah is a town in Garfield County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,895 at the 2010 census. Centerville is located on the southern edge of the Salt Lake Valley and is surrounded by Wasatch Front National Park to the east and north, Mormon Mountain National Monument to the west and south, and Cedar Mesa Wildlife Preserve to the southeast. Centerville was founded in 1887 by George Fenton as a small farming community on a ridge above what is now Centerville Drive. It became an agricultural center with sheep and cattle production becoming important early on. In 1925, Centerville's first post office opened. By 1933 it had become an incorporated settlement with a school, store, blacksmith shop and several homes. The centennial of Centerville's incorporation was celebrated in 1984 with a celebration featuring exhibits about local history including artifacts from Centerville's founding until that year as well as current activities around town including plays and music performances. The townsite that now comprises Centerville was first surveyed in 1887 by Jerald Condon for Brigham Young University (BYU). As part of surveying for BYU's expansion into new land within Salt Lake Valley – much of which would be developed as Provo – Condon also surveyed what is now Cedar Mesa Wildlife Preserve. However other portions of Cedar Mesa were not surveyed until after BYU moved out of its originalcampus location near present day Temple Square in 1893-1894. Centerville is a small town in northeastern Utah, United States. Centerville was organized in 1875 and became a city on January 1, 1907. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. Centerville is located at (38.914361, -111.729812). The first settler in what is now Centerville were two families who arrived from Illinois on July 10, 1875, and built a log cabin near the present day intersection of Centre Street and Old Highway 24. They named their settlement after the centenary of the French Revolution which had occurred just one year earlier in 1789. In 1876, another family moved to Centerville from Springdale and started a grocery store and post office there. In 1886, Centerville began to be developed as a bedroom community for Cedar City due to its location next to Cedar Valley Railroad Station which made it easy for people to get around town without having to leave their homes or go on long trips into Cedar City. The growth of Centerville led to the construction of several businesses including a bank and an opera house that opened in 1903. In 1912, Centerville incorporated as a city under state law with Mayor H C Allen as its first official mayoralty holder. In 1916, the city erected its first firehall which served as both local government headquarters and municipal auditorium until it was replaced by the current structure in 1979-80; this building still stands today as part of CENTERVILLE CITY Hall complex housing many departments responsible for all aspects of city government including finance, planning & zoning/land use regulation etc., while also serving as home to various cultural programs both traditional arts events such as plays & music festivals etc., along with more recent events such as chamber concerts or exhibitions staged by private individuals or groups during off hours when no other public event is scheduled for that day within CITY Hall Complex premises!
