Centerville, Utah is located in Logan County and has been a community for over eighty years. The town was founded by the McDonnell family in 1887 and became a census-designated place (CDP) in 1975. Centerville is known for its coffee shops, which have been serving delicious cup of Joe's since the early 1900s. The first coffee shop in Centerville was the Pikes Peak Coffee House, which opened on Main Street in 1907. The popularity of coffee led to the opening of other stores throughout Centerville over time. One such store was the Golden Nugget Cafe, which opened on Main Street in 1912. In 1961, Centerville’s first grocery store opened on West First Street. At this time, Centerville had three restaurants and twenty-five cafes/bars. In 1974,Centerville’s first post office opened on First Avenue and served as an important link between the town and surrounding communities until it closed its doors in 1996. Today, Centerville boasts over thirty businesses that offer gourmet coffee products along with local artisans who make unique items from their produce and crafted items from woodworker Supplies Ltd.. There are also several festivals each year that bring people together to enjoy great foodstuff exhibitions as well as live music performances throughout the weekdays downtown area
