The USS Cedar City was a United States Navy destroyer that served in the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War. The ship was decommissioned in 2003, but was reactivated and deployed to Kuwait as part of Operation Neptune's Spear. She completed her deployment late in the war and returned home on December 12, 1993. The USS Cedar City took part in ceremonies honoring the sailors who died during Operation Neptune's Spear on December 15, 1993. In 1984, USS Cedar City (DD-5) became the first U.S. Navy destroyer ever to be donated to the Utah National Guard Auxiliary by then-Governor Tom Lee of Utah as a gift for their upcoming "Operation Christmas Tree" campaign. In 2000, USS Cedar City was sold to Dubai Ports World Ltd., an affiliate of Dubai Ports World Company Limited for $1 million USD and renamed Emirates Dhow ("Emirates Ship"). she completed her maiden voyage fromDubai on Boxing Day 2001 and arrived at New York Harbor on January 1st 2002 after having spent more than two months sailing aroundthe world en route. On January 6th2002 she leftNewYork Harbour bound for Bahrain where she will serve with Bahrain's Royal Armed Forces as part of Exercise Valiant Guardian II On 2nd Febuary 2006 USS Cedar City sailed into New Orleans Harbor after completing a three week journey from Bahrain through the Mediterranean Sea this is her last visit before returning home permanently which made it possible for her new owners to paint her all unique colors which they did including green and white with blue trim also done throughout her journey making sure that no one boat would look alike once back at home USS Cedar city is currently stored at Naval Station Norfolk VA while preparations are underway for her return home later this year

The Cedar City Naval Base has been a major force since 1907. The Navy's deployment history in Utah began with the USS Sturgis DD-584 on 10 November 1907. The battery was moved to Naval Air Station Cedar City (NAVCHC) in 1958 and became part of Destroyer Squadron Fourteen. In 1966, USS Valley Forge (CVN 68) arrived at NAVCHC and the squadron was redesignated Destroyer Squadron One Hundred Nineteen. On 15 October 1978, USS Pembroke (PF 14) arrived at NAVCHC and the squadron became Destroyer Squadron Thirteen. In 1990, USS Enterprise (CVN 70) arrived at NASChC and the squadron was redesignated Cruiser Squadron Two Hundred Forty-Nine. In 1994, USS John F Kennedy (CVN 73) arrived at NASChC and the squadron became Destroyer Squadron Seventy-One. On 1 April 1997, USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 61) relievedUSS Valley Forge at NASChC and the squadron became Destroyer Squadron Six Hundred Thirty-Two effective 2 April 1997.On 1 July 1998,USS Porter(DDG 71) replacedUSS John F Kennedy at NASChC; this made SANCHElementsOne hundred forty nine vessels total including eleven destroyers In 2001, San Diego Group Training Center opened which housed destroyer squadrons Two Hundred Fifty Nine through Two thousand Five hundred fifty one .On 18 May 2002 Enterprise collided with tugboat MV Pacifica off coast of Baja California Sur killing all seven aboard CVE #2187
Cedar City, Utah is a town located in Cedar County, Utah, United States. The population was 7,464 at the 2010 census. Cedar City is the county seat of Cedar County. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cedar City was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847 as a farmstead on the east bank of Philo Creek. The first post office in Cedar City opened in 1851 and remained in operation until it closed in 1960. The first school in Cedar City was built on Main Street in 1854 and became known as "The First School." In 1860, Cedar City moved from its original location to what is now the downtown area of the town. In 1907, Cedar City-Ogden annexed nearby Latimer Township which had a population of 1,500 people at that time. In 1959, when Ogden-Clearfield metropolitan statistical area was created by combining several smaller areas, including portions of Weber and Davis Counties, CedarCity became part of it. As part of this metropolitan area, its citizens were charged with one vote for members of the Salt Lake Valley Council and one vote for members of the Utah House delegation. According to2010 census data released by the US Census Bureau*, there are 7459 residents living within 5 miles (8 km) or lessof city limits: 4659 within 10 miles (6 km) or less: 3290 within 15 miles (9 km) or less: 1925within 20 miles (32 km)orless than 25 miles (40 km). Within these five large radius*, all but 2%of residents reside inside 100 blocks* or more!* *This data excludes unincorporated territory

Cedar City (population: 114,000) is located in Wasatch County, Utah, and was founded on November 12, 1847 by Mormon pioneers. The Cedar City exurb is a bedroom community located within the Salt Lake Valley metropolitan area. Cedar City is also home to Brigham Young University–Hawaii and Utah State University. The first settlers in Cedar City were men from Ohio who arrived in 1847. They laid out a town called Harmony on the edge of what is now Cedar City Mesa. In 1850 the town was renamed Cedar Rapids after a tree near the original settlement that had been named for the capital of Sweden. In 1853, Mormons from Salt Lake City came to live in Harmony and began building what would become known as The Temple – one of only two temples built by Mormons in American history. In 1865, when Utah became a United States state, Cedar City became its capital. The city grew rapidly during this time with many new businesses and homes being erected along Main Street. By 1870, however, it had reached its peak population with over 20 businesses and 100 residents living in downtown areas such as Main Street and Second Street between Center Street and East Temple Road. That same year saw the opening of the first church in Cedar City – an Episcopalian Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints congregation called Pioneer Square organized by John Wirthlin under license from his father-in-law David Whitmer. During World War II many industries based in orchards around nearby Beavercreek produced fruits and vegetables for soldiers overseas; these Orchard Park firms continue today as local commercial entities such as Hecht’s Produce Inc., Great Western Gourmet Market & Supermarket stores etc.. One significant event that took place during this time was when President Franklin D Roosevelt delivered his famous speech “ 4 score years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation conceived in Liberty, dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal” at LDS Tabernacle which begins his "New Deal" program which aimed to reduce social inequality throughout America through heavy investment into education and public works projects like housing developments throughout America's cities
