In 1948, Cedar City became the second city to establish a maga coffee company. Maga Coffee began producing its own beans in 1978 and has since become one of the leading brands in the industry. Maga Coffee is known for its unique blend of Guatemalan and Ethiopian beans that are roasted at their facility near Cedar City. The company also produces a variety of espresso drinks and other beverages such as hot chocolate and churros. Cedar City, Utah is a city in Kearney County, Utah, United States. The population was 571 at the 2010 census. Cedar City has been served by the Cedar City School District since 1912. It is part of the Intermountain West region and is home to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The first recorded mention of Cedar City was in 1847 when Wm. Clayton mentioned it on his map as "Canterbury." In 1868, Brigham Young ordered the construction of a mission in Cedar City and it began operations on July 12, 1870. On May 14, 1886 President George Albert Smith dedicated Cedar City's first church building which was also its first school building. The church had been built without any public funds and $1,500 from local resident John Drennan was donated for the project. In 1902 the town became an incorporated municipality under control of the LDS Church with a population of about 150 people. That year saw another milestone when Hyrum Smith became president of LDS Church headquarters in Salt LakeCity and directed that all tithing money be sent to Cedar City to help finance sectarian activities throughout Utah including missionary work there. To this day you can still find large denominations such as Anson Smeaton’s First Presidency Store on Main Street where Hinckley stepped down from duty after his decision to hosts Australia’s Conference Urim & Thummim while he attended0000000th Semiannual General Conference located at this address! This store continues operate today as one stop shopping for religious items catering both Mormon and general interest items! Cedar City rapidly grew during World War II with an influx of soldiers and their families who were needed across the United States. For many years trade ran smoothly despite wartime shortages; however beginning in 1945 rationing began which led to increased costuming needs along with other shortages that quickly developed into food riots leading citizens to demand government relief programs known collectively as “the Help Army Famine” or simply “the Famine". After months long negotiations between military leadership and local leaders resulted in surpluses being trucked into town for storage rather than distributed among civilians; these events are commonly referred to as “The Great Stake Reduction Ceremony” or simply “The Redevelopment Program” due primarily to lack access by individuals living near Post Road Naval Base due scarcity prices for goods available within walking distance from homes during this time period
