This merger allowed Weyerhaeuser Brewery to become one of the largest commercial brewers in Utah. During World War II, many local businesses were forced to close due to the war effort. However, some notable businesses such as Andrew's Café continued operating until after the war ended in 1945. Additionally, during this time period there were also several restaurants located near downtown Bountiful which served up delicious traditional German cuisine like Wiener Schnitzel (Wiener Sausage). In the late 1940s and early 1950s there was significant growth happening within the artisan coffee industry throughout Utah; however it wasn't until around 1960 that things really exploded within this industry thanks to a group of entrepreneurs who named themselves "The Coffee Masters." This group consisted of John Thomas Griffiths (founder/CEO), DonatellO Salvatore (president), Dick Schaefer (director), Gary Laughlin (founder/CFO) and Doug Engelbart (chief technology officer).
