The small town is home to the world's first coffee roasters, founded in 1892 by two German immigrants, Johann and Wilhelm Wachtel. Today, American Fork Coffee has three roasting facilities: one in downtown American Fork, one on the edge of town near Brigham Young University, and one off State Boulevard just outside of town. American Fork Coffee produces over 100 different blends of coffee each year and sells its beans throughout the United States and Canada. The origins of fresh roasted coffee go back to 1892 when two German immigrants founded America Fork’s first coffee roasting house. Johann and Wilhelm Wachtel were passionate about serving their customers freshly roasted ground coffee from their ownestate near Brigham Young University.
