Coffee is a beverage that has been consumed for centuries in Alpine, Utah. The first coffeehouses were opened in the early 1800s and the first coffee beans were grown in this area. In 1892, Swiss immigrants built the first Cafe Utopia in Alpine and began serving coffee. The original Café Utopia was located on State Street between Sixth and Seventh Streets. In 1949, two brothers founded the Coffee House of Utah which served coffee from its location on First Avenue South between Tenth and Eleventh Streets. In 1976, Alpine became an incorporated city and the Coffee House of Utah relocated to Eighth Street near Main Street. Today, Alpine has several cafes that serve both fresh brewed coffee as well as pre-packaged drinks such as smoothies and tea sandwiches.

Alpine, Utah is a town in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 7,332 at the 2010 census. It lies along Interstate 40 west of Provo. The area around Alpine was first settled by the Ute people in the early 1800s. In 1847, Brigham Young founded a small community here called Centerville on the shores of Lake Powell. By 1850, however, Centerville had disbanded because of disagreements about church governance and leadership within the LDS Church. In 1861, Alma Anderson purchased land east of Centerville from David Oates for $4 per acre. He named his new settlement after his father (Alma's brother) Helaman Alderdice Anderson and built a log cabin there to serve as a homestead and storehouse. In 1865 Hiram Lodge bought 50 acres adjacent to Anderson's holdings and donated it to the LDS Church as an outpost station on what became known as "Hiram's Prominence," which lay along I-40 between Salt Lake City and Provo. In 1875 Brigham Young ordered all Mormon settlements be relocated due to growing public opposition to polygamy; Alpine remained unaltered by this directive butAnderson moved his family into their new home in 1876 on 640 acres he acquired east of Centerville from Wm Henson & Co., merchants who had traded goods with Mormons traveling through these areas en route to Independence or Ogden crossings on the Great Salt Lake River. By 1890 Alpine had become one of six Latter Day Saint communities located within Kane County when that county was organized from part of Weber County following congressional approval of Mormon pioneers' efforts in that region during Stephen Fevre's presidency (see also "Kane County"). A post office was established at Alpine in 1896; its name changed two years later to Provo Riverpost after I-40 was rerouted through central Utah following Snowy Mountain eruptions on July 12, 1898 (the day before provo mayor John Dyer proposed holding an open house for residents)). The townsite grew rapidly with increasing numbers of inhabitants – 1,500 by 1900 – but by 1910 there were only 528 residents living in what is now Alpine proper while 1,819 people lived within 10 miles (16 km)of town limits adjoining Kaysville/Centerville/Cache Valley etc.; 806 residences were situated outside Town Limits! Shortly thereafter major road construction began herein — including state Route 42 connecting Kaysville via Cache Valley with Provovia some distance away (& present-day US Highway 84 joining Kaysville/Centerville just beyond), plus numerous Alpinestown shopping centers catering primarilyto suburbanites rather than resident farmers etc.— Resulting not only increased traffic thru town limits but also more homelessness among increased ranks & densities (& resultant increase rates o crime); certainly conditions leading up t Junction Street massacre Oct 1951 @ age 38!… Today’s Avalanche literally overlooks downtown Pioneer Square downtown business district w residential neighborhoods still going strong— most visibly i n Parkview Village (@ mtaylorpark), lots close ly surrounding airport … [but] much has changed since then including population growth rates nearly doubling over last 10 years!]

By 1840, espresso machines were becoming more common in Italy and Spain than they were in America. The first machine that could produce espresso was invented by Giovanni Angelo Bonomi at a cafe called La Jolla on May 29th of that year. Bonomi’s machine used hot water and ground beans instead of steam or hot air like later machines. In 1846, Luigi Beccaria published his book entitled “On Crimes and Punishment” which argued against capital punishment because it would lead to too much crime and anarchy among society's assassins! This led to abolitionism movement during the 1800s which ultimately culminated with women gaining suffrage in 1920!
