In 1881, White Settlement was founded by Scots-Irish settlers. The town grew quickly and soon became a center for the cattle industry. In 1907, the Texas Legislature passed an act authorizing the sale of firearms to persons who had been duly licensed to carry them in Texas. This act allowed White Settlement residents to purchase shotguns and other firearms from local gunsmiths. The storekeepers were among the first people in White Settlement to learn how to use these new firearms. The store also became a popular spot for shooters and hunters in the early 20th century. Customers would come into the store to buy rifles, shotguns, pistols, ammunition, and other hunting supplies. Over time, however, the store began selling only handguns and sporting items. During World War II, White Settlement was one of few communities in Texas that remained open during the war effort. After hostilities ended, many of the town's businesses closed down but the store continued operating until it eventually went out of business in 1951. The building still stands today and is used as a museum by local historians

The history of the White Settlement in Texas is shrouded in mystery. However, it is known that this small farming community was founded by white settlers in the early 1800s. The town was located on the banks of the San Antonio River and quickly became a popular spot for homesteaders and colonists looking to escape poverty and racism back east. Over time, White Settlement grew into one of the most important settlements in Texas. It played an essential role in developing the state’s economy and helped create a sense of community among its residents. In addition, White Settlement helped support significant amounts of military activity during the American Civil War, providing troops with food and shelter as they fought against General Robert E. Lee and his Confederate army.

In 1846, Congress passed the National Land Act which gave certain parcels of land in Texas to American citizens for homesteading purposes. In 1881, American Indians known as Kiowa began occupying large areas of present-day Oklahoma Territory; as a result, white Texans began to migrate eastward into Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in search of farmland or other resources. Because many white Texans were not from Kansas or Oklahoma proper, they did not have any legal rights over Indian Territory property. This situation continued until 1907 when the Dawes Commission appointed by President McKinley granted citizenship to all Native Americans living within Cherokee Nation boundaries without giving them land west of Creek Nation lines (which included most of present-day Arkansas). As a result, many white Texans found themselves homeless on their new lands and took up residence with Native Americans instead. In 1933, White Settlement became an official city within Dallas County after being annexed by that county from Kaufman County. It remains one of the smallest cities in Dallas County with only around seventy residents today. Today's downtown business district may be best remembered for its connections to two radio stations: WBAP (1400 AM), which aired country music programming until 1951; and KRLD (1310 AM), which played jazz programming until 1974 before becoming an CHR station under then-owner Raycom Media Group before being sold again in 1992 to Infinity Broadcasting Corporation subsidiary WWL Radio Incorporated White Settlement has experienced some recent revitalization throughout the last few decades thanks to programs such as our Heritage Trails program that brings attention to local historical sites through walking tours and exhibits during summer months

White Settlement in Texas began with the purchase of land from the Indian tribes in 1836. The land was divided into parcels, and investors set about finding a way to populate the area. In 1840, a group of men led by James Hance founded Dallas, Texas. They determined that the area would be an ideal place to settle because it had excellent soil and climate conditions. The first white settlers were two families from Kentucky: John Brown and his family and Ephrem Chambers’s family. White Settlement quickly grew into a large town, with over 1,000 people living there by 1850. The growth of White Settlement was due in part to its location – it was close to both Mexico City and Austin – as well as its good soil and climate conditions. White Settlement continued to grow until the early 1870s, when it peaked at around 2,500 people. However, this period of growth was short-lived; within five years, White Settlement had fallen apart due to numerous factors such as population decline and economic recession. By the end of the 19th century, White Settlement had all but disappeared from sight behind Mexican Hill Cemetery. However, some remnants of White Settlement can still be found today; for example, Dallas has several small streets named after original white settlers such as John Brown Street and Ephrem Chambers Street. Additionally, there are also several museums dedicated to white settlement history in Texas including The James Hance Museum in Dallas (which is home to one of America’s most famous statues commemorating white settlement), The Houston History Center’s “Ichi Lakota showcase” on Lady Bird Johnson Drive (which features artifacts related to Native American culture), and The Lone Star State Historical Museum’s display on Building 217 (the former home of the Houston Post).
