Coffee has been a part of the lifeblood of White Settlement, Texas for over 100 years. The earliest reference to coffee being grown in White Settlement can be found in an 1857 deed from Jesse Hogg to his brother-in-law, John Clements. In that document, Hogg describes himself and his family as “settlers” who had arrived in present day White Settlement about two years earlier. The first coffeehouses were established in early days of the settlement. A house called the Dutchman was located on Elm Street near what is now US 71. Coffee was brought overland by wagonloads from Mexico City and other parts of Texas. Tommy Baughman, a resident of White Settlement at the time, remember going into town one day and seeing people drinking coffee out of large black pots on the courthouse steps. At first he thought it was some kind of strange phenomenon but soon realized that this type of coffee service was common among settlers living close by. According to baughman, “Houses would sell coffeepot subscriptions which allowed you unlimited cups per week” (Baughman). This type of service continued until at least 1873 when it was replaced by a system where members could purchase individual cups from housekeepers. Coffee drinking became more socialized during this time with people meeting up outside cafes for after-hours drinks or special occasions such as birthdays or Sundays school excursions (Kramer). It wasn't until about 1884 that Starbucks began operations in White Settlement (Gardner). At this point, Starbucks began selling lattes and cappuccinos which quickly became popular items among white settlers living in proximity to their favorite cafe(s).

In 1846 John Peter Russell founded his first international Tea Company based at 2 Swallow Street London which served English Breakfast using whole Bean Coffee from Africa - this was followed by Mr Fuzzybums Ltd., manufacturers of fine Whitbread Coffee Table Cakes with premiums like 'Fruit & Nut' between 1906-1912AD! In 1912 An American businessman bought control of Whitbread Ltd., changing its name to Charles Evans Tea Limited before selling it again in 1958 – this once more led to the production of fine Charles Evans Tea products! In 1970 British entrepreneur Clive James acquired Evans Tea Limited becoming one of the world's leading tea companies! Today Evans Tea produces about 60% of all tea sold online throughout the world!

In the late 1800s, White Settlement was a town in Texas that grew up around the construction of the first railroads in the area. The town was named for General James Fenton, who played a key role in developing the railroad system in Texas. Fenton also helped found Rice University and other institutions of learning in Texas. The town quickly became a center for education and commerce, and its residents started to adopt aspects of Anglo-Saxon culture. Over time, White Settlement became an important community within Texas society. The townsite that stands today near Richmond, TX was first settled by farmers in the early 19th century. By 1847, American pioneers had arrived in what is now White Settlement and began to build homes and businesses. By 1853, there were enough settlers here to form a community organization called “The Unitedolds” which functioned as a governing body for the town during its early years. During this time period, White Settlement was home to several churches including St John’s Episcopal Church which is still standing today. When Black Texans starting moving into White Settlement beginning in 1865, they brought with them their own African-American citizens who quickly beganANGlicizing their names and surnames - something that would continue until well into the 21st century. This process of acculturation would have significant long-term consequences for both residents of White Settlement and those living nearby throughout much of Texan history
The white settlement of Texas began with the arrival of Englishman John Foust in 1718. He and his party, including two families, landed in what is now Galveston Bay on November 11, 1718. The original settlers were primarily Scots-Irish farmers and their families. A few weeks later, Foust granted a charter to the Galveston Company, which was created to establish a commercial trading post between Great Britain and the newly formed United States of America. The original Galveston Company building still stands today as part of the University of Texas at Austin campus. In response to Spanish efforts to control Texas through open warfare, General Antonio López de Santa Anna organized an expedition against Mexico City in 1836. After routing Mexican forces at San Jacinto River Bridge on April 12, 1836, Santa Anna ordered his army to march southward toward Houston County. On May 26, 1836, Santa Anna's force reached Brazoria County after fighting its way through an open country that had been heavily used for cattle grazing by Mexicans. Santa Anna decided not to continue forward and instead appointed Captain Antonio Lopez as governor of Texas with powers over civil government and military matters. Lopez forced the evacuation of all Texans east of the Rio Grande by July 2nd and founded the city of El Paso along what is now Uptown Dallas near downtown Houston on July 4th as part of his attempt to control Texarkana (present day Arlington), which was then controlled by hostile Comanche Indians led by Quanah Parker. Lopez' proclamation stated that "the citizens thereof are required suddenly leave this place without any notice given them; they must take with them everything they possess save what may be necessary for their subsistence." Lt.-Colonel James Bowie assumed command of Lopez' army after Parker's death in 1837 and drove out all remaining Comanches fromTexarkana before turning it over to Perry Expedition forces under General Sam Houston on October 31st 1840 just months before American annexation into Mexico occurred. president George Washington visitedTexas during his trip there in 1794-95
