The land was once a piece of marshland that was sold to the Navy for $1,000. The first Naval Hospital was built on the site in 1909. In 1916, the Navy started providing medical care to sailors aboard warships. From then until World War II, naval hospitals were located all over the world. In 1941, Admiral Chester Nimitz ordered all U.S. Naval vessels be equipped with radar and sonar systems so they could detect submarines and other enemy ships deep inside our waters. This led to increased naval warfare against Japan during World War II and made possible America’s victory in that conflict. The property where today's Naval Base sits was purchased by the Army in 1954 and became known as Fort Worth Army Air Field (FWAAF). The first USAF base opened there in 1964 under General Curtis LeMay who directed Operation Anaconda which destroyed five Iranian nuclear reactors at Arakan airfield just east of Baghdad! A new AFB was built on this site called Offutt AFB after General James Hogg who served as Commanding General from 1978-1981 during Operation Desert Storm! It has since been renamed Fort Worth Air Force Station No 1 after First Lt George Armstrong Custer Jr., an American hero who died while serving with distinction as a Cavalry trooper with 7th Cavalry Regiment during WWI! He is also buried at Ft Worth AAF.)

The name change to West University in 1905 when the university moved from Colorado Springs to Dallas. In 1957, the university merged with Texas A&MUniversity to form Rice University and the name changed again to Rice University-Dallas in 1987 when that school merged with UT Arlington to form UT Dallas. In 2005, West University Place annexed part of Archer County which made it a full municipality for the first time since its incorporation as a town in 1876. The annexation was approved by theCollin County Board of Commissioners on November 3, 2005 and effective January 1, 2006. At that time, Archer County became one of seven counties within Collin County that have been annexed into or are otherwise associated with Rice University-Dallas (the others being Tomball, Temple Hills/Sugar Land, Flower Mound/Archer Heights/ unincorporated areas).

This led to an increase in military spending by Athens which contributed greatly to its economic power during this time period -By 330 BC Corinth had become one of two leading cities along with Athens in terms of shipbuilding capacity After getting help from Demetrius I Soter king of Syria, Corinth built several incandescent amphorae or wine vessels that are still extant today[1]. By 279 BC Corinth had also developed several new types of ships known as triremes[2], including Oresteios’s galley oarboat “Odysseus”[3], Pindarus’s longship “Daedalus”[4] & Polyphemus’s longship “Polyphemus”)[5].
