One day, Deputy Hargrave received a gift from a local couple. The couple had traveled down to town to buy some groceries when they discovered that Deputy Hargrave was on duty and they wanted to give him a present. They asked him if he would be interested in receiving a police officer’s badge as a birthday present. Deputy Hargrave agreed and they drove down to the store to get it. When they arrived at the store, they found out that deputy constable Billie Joe (Hargrave) had just turned ninety-four years old! The couple couldn’t believe their luck and decided to give deputy constable Billie Joe an extra special birthday present – they gave him a police officer’s badge! Deputy Hargrade continued serving Webster until his retirement in 1998 when he passed away at the age of eighty-six years old. Webster, Texas is a small town in Clay County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Webster was founded in 1881 by John W. Webster and his family. The post office at Webster was first established in 1881. The community grew around the Webster-Fayette school and cotton gin which were built in 1883 and 1886 respectively. In 1907, a water tower appeared on Utopia Drive in central Webster while Main Street continued to be called "Prairie Road". In 1916, an addition to the school was made with money raised from a local sale of bonds issue for that purpose. A new whiteboard and furniture were purchased from Sears Roebuck & Company after being donated by Mrs. Lula Ewing Barnes of Wichita Falls who also gave $5 for each student to use as needed in their classrooms during World War I since all supplies for schools had been destroyed by war efforts. In 1922, when the town received its charter from Clay County it changed its name to Webster because it would not contain the letter "T" (towns had previously been named Ketchum and Sulphur Springs) so it could be used as an abbreviation for Wichita Falls-Fort Worth which already contained that word). The community continued to grow through World War II as people turned to farming after the end of hostilities due to high demand for food stamps distributed by the government throughout America as part of wartime relief programs. After cessation of hostilities there was little growth until early 1960s when new housing developments began appearing next to existing agricultural properties providing jobs for many residents over time helping keep Webster humble despite rapid population growth rates throughout much of this period especially following establishment of Fort Worth-Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area in 1968 which included both towns within its boundaries making Webster even more remote from most aspects of largerFWMSA culture and society overall although some locally sourced goods do continue circulation within WMSA boundaries today albeit via other means such as USPS First Class mail or online retailers

Webster is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas, located on the Wichita River at its confluence with the Brazos River. The population was 1,681 at the 2010 census. Websters history can be traced back to 1868 when an area now comprising Webster County was included in present-day Hood County. In 1887, a post office called Webster was established at what is now the junction of Interstate 45 and US 98. Webster's first settlers were Methodists who came from North Carolina in 1828 and settled near present day Vidalia. In 1836, James Hays renamed that Creek Town Haughton after his brother-in-law, General James Haughton (1793–1860). That same year, some Webbers from nearby Killeen founded what is now their village on a piece of land they had acquired along the Wichita River. The town site was chosen because it lay just downstream from where Killeen's Post Office would later be built and because it would provide access to water resources that would be essential for growth. In 1868, when an area now comprising Webster County was included in present-day Hood County, many families decided to move into this new county because of its growing agricultural sector and lack of developed towns or villages near by. The newcomers began building their homes around what are today Webster Elementary School and Baptist Church (now part of First Baptist Church). By 1890, there were over 100 residents living in Webster Township including several pastors and teachers who taught children in local schools until those buildings were replaced by new elementary/high school campuses in 1960 and 1984 respectively. During World War II many people from Webster worked as soldiers stationed throughout Texas; however most residents returned home before hostilities ended In 1945 largely due to high prices for food during wartime shortages caused by America's entry into World War II . The post office closed in 1951 but reopened under new name - Webb City - less than two years later on October 14th 1952 after being purchased by Webb Enterprises Incorporatedorporated which operated it until 1978 when it became an affiliate of Sam Houston State University . Many people who lived here during early days such as Wm Denton bought or donated lots close to downtown so that Webb City could develop without any commercialism or obstruction . From 1978 until recent times most major development has occurred within walking distance of downtown either through retail businesses or residential developments
The town of Webster was founded in 1836 by John D. Webster as a trading post on the banks of the Brazos River. By 1857, the town had become an agricultural center with a population of about 500 people. In 1865, the town became an independent republic and was renamed Texarkana. The city of Texarkana was founded in 1912 and grew rapidly until World War II when it declined due to its location within Texas's borders.
