There has been an Army presence in Webster since 1881, when the Republic of Texas organized its first unit. The 1st Regiment, Texas Volunteer Infantry was organized on July 4th of that year and mustered in at Fort Worth. The regiment served with distinction during the Mexican-American War and was then stationed at Hamilton Springs near Beaumont before returning to Fort Worth in 1883. It was not until May 1907 that the 1st Regiment became part of the newly organized 2nd Cavalry Division which garrisoned San Antonio. In 1911, a new armory and barracks were built for the division at Webster and it began using these facilities for army training from then on. The 2nd Cavalry Division also participated in World War I as part of the Third Brigade, First Cavalry Division. After the war, it returned home to Webster where it remained active until 1959 when it was disbanded. In total, there have been over 50 different units that have served within the Army in Webster over time.

The Webster, Texas Army National Guard unit has been present in the state since 1903. The unit was originally organized as a cavalry regiment and rapidly became an infantry brigade during World War I. After the war, the brigade was redesignated as an armored division and served in World War II before being disbanded in 1945. The Webster army National Guard unit returned to full strength in 1972 when it was raised as a reserve battalion for the Texas Military Forces. In 1992, the army national guard unit was again redesignated as an infantry brigade and participated in Operation Desert Storm.
Webster, Texas is a town in Gregg County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,959 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Webster was founded in 1836 and named for Alexander Webster, who had been surveyor general for the territory from 1829 to 1830. The town was platted in 1836 by General James H. Fannin and Colonel John Kirby Smith as an agricultural center on the Llano River near what is now Arlington Heights, a small community nearby. It became an important railroad junction due to its location on both the Houston and San Antonio Railway (H&S) and also because it served as a stop on stage coaches traveling between these two cities. In 1880, Milton Davenport opened his first cotton gin in Webster; this helped make Webster one of the largest cotton gins in South Texas until it was surpassed by White Settlement in 1930s growth. By 1910, however, white settlement had replaced agriculture as the town's mainstay; during that decade only 1 percent of Webster's population were white Americans while over 60 percent were Hispanic or Latino American citizens from Mexico and other Latin American countries descendants of Mexican immigrants who had arrive during antebellum period. In 1970, when statehood came about for Texas A&M University System under then Governor Connally's Executive Order No. 5595 (), there was great anticipation among many residents of southeastern Gregg County that their new university would bring much-needed economic development to their townships including Webster which would be elevated from Township to Borough status with all municipal powers vested within its borders instead of through village formaldehyde! Upon arrival of Aggie students at A&M we quickly discovered that our expectations were not misplaced! The early 1990s saw dramatic changes take place within our community with budget cuts brought about by my predecessors as mayor/councilmember/state representative leading to a decline in economic activity and even some closure(!!) of local businesses but Aggie has never stopped tryingto move forward no matter how difficult things may seem today! Despite these challenges Aggie remains determined to provide quality education opportunities for our students while continuing its long historyreplete with amazing people like current Mayor/Councilmember Robby Krieger

Webster, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The community was named for General John Webster who laid the foundation for the town in 1854. Webster was founded on the site of an old fortification and post office that had been destroyed by a flood in 1851. The post office was renamed Webster in 1855 and it served as the center of local commerce until 1902 when a new courthouse was built. The original building still stands and is used as a museum today. In 1896, the community became part of Austin and it has grown steadily since then with nearly 12,000 residents currently living there. The history of Webster begins with its founding as an agricultural community on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. By 1860, however, agriculture had become less important and the town developed into a small commercial center due to its location near major transportation hubs such as Austin and San Antonio. In 1902, Webster incorporated as a municipality which helped keep it growing while also providing some basic services such as water supply and fire protection. In 1966, however, Austin annexed much of Hudspeth County so that Webster would remain separate from Austin even though its population growth rivals that of Austin itself. Today, Webster continues to grow despite this separation while also maintaining strong ties to its larger neighbor thanks to agreements like cooperation on economic development projects or joint cultural events like FourthofJuly fireworks displays.
The town of Webster was founded by Captain John Fenton in 1827. The community grew rapidly due to the success of its landowning families, and by 1840, there were over 100 people living in the area. In 1851, the Post Office was established in Webster, and soon became an important center for trade and commerce. The town soon developed into a thriving milltown with many businesses and residences. By 1897, Webster had become a city with a population of over 1,000 people.
