The United States Armed Forces have been in place since the Revolutionary War. The first U.S. Army was organized on December 12, 1775, and fought in the American Revolution. The modern U.S.Army was founded on January 15, 1861, when President Abraham Lincoln authorized the creation of a single army to protect America’s southern border and carry out other tasks as assigned by Congress. Since then, the U.S.Army has served in every country in the world and played an important role in both World Wars I and II; even playing a small part in Korea and Vietnam (although not as prominently). Today, there are over 260,000 soldiers deployed around the world performing various duties from guard duty to combat support roles including training our own citizens for military service through military academies like West Point or Annapolis; providing humanitarian assistance with Operation平凡，Helping to secure our borders while also safeguarding freedom around the globe; guarding our airspace while conducting operations such as air strikes against ISIS or subversion of government targets abroad; and more! In Texas alone there are over 3600 active duty soldiers stationed at Fort Worth’s Lackland Air Force Base along with nearly 4000 civilians who serve alongside them as part of “the community” within which they live their lives – all making up one of America’s most diverse militaries! deployable troops come from all walks of life: white working class residents of Midtown Dallas; black veterans from Gulfport Naval Shipyard ]; Hispanic firefighters from El Paso ; Asian-American marines from Corpus Christi ; Native American members of Alamo Scouts Jct.; Atheist members of Desert Sun Church (); plus everyone imaginable who may be called into military service someday (or just happen to live near an Active Duty Soldier!). And that doesn’t include spouses/family members serving overseas! This paper will explore how gifts have been given to Active Duty Soldiers throughout history by those who contribute to their well-being both inside and outside of barracks – friends, family members, strangers alike! It will cover items such as food parcels sent home during times off or special occasions like deployments or funerals (and sometimes more!), medals awarded posthumously for heroism or courage under fire, books/movies purchased specifically for soldier use during deployments (Oscar Wilde is a favorite), etc., giving you an idea about what might be on someone’s mind when they receive an Army gift today. Uvalde is a town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,726 at the 2010 census. It is part of the El Paso–Nuevo Laredo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded on October 10, 1859 by James Hargrave and his wife Jane Villarreal as Uvalde City. It began as a military outpost to protect settlers from Comanche raiding parties that were active in that area at the time. In 1863, Uvalde became the county seat of Hidalgo County after it was moved from Lubbock to be closer to railroad traffic. On November 5, 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt's first term as president ended with his death in office; his Vice President William Howard Taft succeeded him and took office on December 3. On that date, Taft signed into law the "Lubbock Act", which provided for annexation of much of southeastern Texas by the newly formed New Mexico Territory. As part of this process, Uvalde became an incorporated city under Nuevo Laredo governance on January 1, 1903. In 1917-1918 during World War I there was an airfield constructed airstrip located near present day Uvalde which served as a bombing target for American bombers flying over Central America during what is now known as The Great American Bombing Campaign (January 1917 - April 1918). This event has been referred to variously as The Battle of Midland or simply The War against Poverty (WWI). A plaque at Midland International Airport commemorates this conflict and local volunteer firefighters who responded thereto including future Mayor Don Ferguson and Fire Marshal Tom Couchman As early as 1859 there were people living in what is now called Uvaldo TX., when James Hargrave settled there with his wife Jane Villarreal after moving from Lubbock . They named their settlement "Uvalde" after their home state of Virginia . Over time they built up a modest farmstead , becoming one of the earliest towns in Hudspeth County . By 1861 they had 4 families living there including James Hargrave himself & Wife Jane
