Stephenville was founded in 1876 by John A. Stephenson and named for him, Stephenville, Texas. The city became a town in 1907 and an incorporated municipality in 1912. Stephenville was the home of the Stephensons from 1876 to 1982. In 1984, the Stephensons sold their business interests in Stephenville to Gulfstream Coffee Corporation and it is now part of Starbucks. The first espresso machines were made in Italy by Giovanni Fabbri in 1898 while working at Italian coffee house La Bottega del Lardo on Houston Street near today's Joe's Pizza location. The first American-made espresso machine was built by Luigi Ferraris of Philadelphia, PA, which he installed at his coffee shop Gilded Cage on Fifth Avenue between East 57th and 58th Streets in New York City on November 15, 1903. In 1906-1907, Angelo Mussatto operated a small cafe called "Pronto" on Market Street just east of downtown where he served espresso drinks using manual pump systems from his kitchenette up until 1914 when he replaced them with automatic systems purchased from Swiss company Rheinmetall Instruments AG . Mussatto moved to 118 W Main Street (now First Baptist Church) after World War I and continued serving coffee until his death in 1950 . He left behind a legacy of quality coffee that has been carried on by his son Roberto Mussatto since 1966; Angelo's grandson also operates Pronto Cafe .
Stephenville is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,379 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded by Stephen F. Austin in 1836 as a cattle and cotton community on the east bank of the Trinity River about two miles (3 km) from its present location. A post office was established there in 1840, and a school started operations in 1845. In 1865, Stephenville became the site of an important battle during the American Civil War when Confederate General John C Pulaski rallied his men here to fight against Union forces under General Ulysses S Grant. In 1923, Stephenville developed what is now its downtown district which consists of four blocks bounded by 2nd Street on the south, 4th Street on the north, 7th Street on the west and east sides; 2nd Street forms its eastern border with Brush Creek which flows into Trinity River to their north. In 1954, Stephenville formed a City Council which consisted of Mayor Harry Eissell (term expired), 5 trustees (3 from each precinct), and 3 council members who served for one year each; this council had no power over municipal affairs other than voting on ordinances that were passed by either chamber of government within city limits. The first African American to serve as mayor was Dolphus Washington Coleman who held office from 1965 until 1971 after beingelected unanimously with all black residents living in Census tract #2A annexed to city limits following annexation proceedings initiated by then-Mayor Harry Eissell Sr.; Coleman also spearheaded several redevelopment projects within city Limits including Boulevard Plaza and later renamed East Side Plaza after his son Dolphus Washington Coleman Jr., who continued to occupy that property until he died in 1995 at age 93%. On March 26th, 2018 it was announced that Mayor Harry Eissel will be stepping down effective April 30th due to health reasons

It is said that beans were first roasted on small family farms in Africa and then brought to Europe where they were soaked in water and then roasted for profit. Roasting took place over an open flame or sometimes in pits below the ground. The final product was typically turned into iced coffee which would then be exported to other parts of the world. Coffee became popularized throughout North America after Europeans discovered it while travelling through South America during the 16th century. While it was not until long after its discovery that coffee began becoming taxed by European countries, this did not stop its spread throughout much of Asia and Africa where people still enjoyed it as a refreshment morning or afternoon snack. Coffee also had a significant impact on society and economy during this time period. Not only was coffee one of the earliest beverages to become popularized, but it also played an important role in trade and commerce within many cultures at this time period. Coffee beans were often traded between different regions or civilizations for various goods such as textiles, food, weapons, etc., giving rise to some very unique relationships between these groups over time. This interaction led to new ideas about how trade could be beneficial for both parties involved and helped shape early modern economies around the world. Stephenville was founded in 1881 by a group of Englishmen who had come to the United States to work on the railroads. The town grew quickly, and by 1886 it had a population of over 1,000 people. The town's first store was built on Main Street. In 1907, Stephenville became an incorporated municipality. In 1930, the town voters passed a resolution seeking independence from Houston County. The referendum failed, but Stephenville continued to be governed byHouston County officials until 1984. In that year, Houston County annexed Stephenville into its jurisdiction. The history of Stephenville is closely connected with that of its two main employers: the Texas Railroad Company and Gulf + Western Railroad. The Texas Railroad Company was founded in 1881 by George Brazier and associates as a way to provide transportation for goods transported from Mexico City to San Antonio and other parts of Texas. Later that year, the company bought land in Stephenville and began construction on what would become its largest depot ever built - at 11th Street and Broadway. By 1889, the company had grown so large that it decided to move its operations westward into Houston County (then called Tomball). On February 10, 1890, Brazier made his formal presentation to Houston County commissioners about this new decision. Brazier explained that his company needed more space because it was exporting more goods than ever before; he also mentioned that he wanted his new depot ready for business within three months! The Gulf + Western Railroad likewise started out as a way for cotton farmers in southeastern Texasto reach Houston or Dallas via the railroad system (and avoid having their crops carried away by floods or storms). However, over time G&W became much more than simply a means of transportation; it also became known as one of America's "gilded age" railways due to its lavish lifestyles enjoyed by its executives and employees alike. Indeed, many famous Texans – such as Sam Houston – served on G&W's board of directors during those years! By 1925-1926 tensions between G&W executives and local citizens were reaching fever pitch following reports that some workers were raising prices on items being sold aboard their trains while passengers were forcedTo pay inflated rates!G&W management response was swift: they announced plansTo close all but six stationsIn orderTo prevent any further price hikes! This measure effectively ended any public protests against G&W's high standards; indeed most residents now looked up untoGulf+Western Railway as their personal "grand old man". But even after all these years – during which Gulf + Western Railway has seen phenomenal growth both commerciallyAnd socially – there are still things which remind us just how richly endowed this railway once was: For example, visitors can visit one of our locomotivesThat have been preserved at our nearby yards since 1965!"
The Stephenville community was founded in 1847 by the Stephens family. The town growth began when cattle ranching became popular in the area, and many new settlers arrived to help support the industry. By 1875, Stephenville had a population of over 100 people and it grew even more when a railroad was built through the area in 1881. The town developed into a commercial center and served as an important stop on the traveling trail that connected Texas with New Mexico. By 1920, Stephenville had grown to almost 500 people and it remained an important local community until its incorporation as a city in 1966.
