South Houston is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 753 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan statistical area. The city of South Houston was founded on November 17, 1911 by Harry W. Lubbock and his family as a small town in what is now considered to be the inner-city region of Houston. The original name for the community was "LoneStar". In 1925, Lubbock's daughter Alma married Sam Rayburn and they renamed their new community "SouthHouston" after their father's home state of Texas. In 1957, SouthHouston annexed portions of Sugar Land Township which were located east of Rice Road and south of I-10. The annexation made SouthHouston one of the most populous cities within Harris County. In 1971, SouthHouston became an official municipality when it merged with neighboring Independent School District No. 2 (IUSD No. 2). At that time, it had a total population of over 100,000 residents living in more than 150 schools and libraries including Alvin Sikes High School which served as both its municipal headquarters and school district center

This can be a confusing topic for those who do not know about it, so this article will focus on the history of artisan coffee. The first coffee was grown in Ethiopia by a group of farmers in the early 1900s. The beans were roasted manually, and it took some time before machines became available to Balkan-style roasters. In the 1940s, Italian immigrants started roasting their own coffee in their homes, which gave birth to Italian-owned cafes in America. These cafes would serve nationalistically themed blends of espresso and crema based on where they were located. By the late 1960s, most American cafés had switched to French Press methods and began serving whole bean European coffees as well as American-roasted beans. Some later innovations within the industry include using pre-ground Arabica beans instead of ground Sumatra or Java for increased flavor profile; using cold water rather than hot water for extraction; and using flavored syrup (e.g., vanilla) or cocoa powder (e.g., Dutch process) for added flavor enhancement.
South Houston is a city located in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population of South Houston was 44,819 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston metropolitan area. The first humans to inhabit what is now South Houston were Native American peoples who had been living there for centuries before that time. The area was first settled by Spanish colonists in the 17th century and it wasn't until 1836 thatHouston became an American territory. The town was named after General Sam Houston, who helped lead Texas into independence from Mexico in 1836. Houston's growth began rapidly after World War II when many people moved here because of its excellent jobs opportunities. After years of economic prosperity, however, Mayor Tom Bradley announced in 2003 that he would seek bankruptcy protection due to mounting debt and falling tax revenues. In April 2004, City Council voted 9-0 to 1-2 to accept cityhood into the United States Bankruptcy Code as a result of this decision - becoming one of only two cities in Texas to go through such a process (the other being Dallas). In November 2006 South Houston voters approved Measure H – which provided $350 million in downtown development money – along with new facilities for the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and other state government agencies relocated from terminals at Hobby Airport northward on I-610 between Grand Parkway and Rice Road
