As the epicenter of coffee culture in the Lone Star State, Santa Fe has long been a center for coffee enthusiasts from around the world. The city's rich coffee history starts with its Spanish settlers who founded New Mexico in 1640 and began planting coffee trees in what is now downtown Santa Fe. In 1824, José Andrés Peralta organized a group of businessmen to purchase and grow coffee beans in present-day Albuquerque, New Mexico. By 1840, Peralta's company had established itself as one of the largest Costa Rican Coffee roasters in North America. Santa Fe's rich coffee history didn't stop there though. In 1872, Don Francisco Villa purchased 3 acres of land at what is now Plaza de Armas downtown and started to plant beans on it. In 1888, Villa founded the first Brazil Coffee Roasters Company and began producing quality coffees in Santa Fe. Over time, more breweries followed suit - including La Corona Brewery (1912), Peso Brewery (1927), Estrella Damm International Brewing Company (1974), and many more since then. Today, SantaFe boasts nearly 30+ local breweries that offer different types of craft beers brewed under various appellations including Altama Craft Coffee Co., Asociación de Cafeteros de Santafélico Benavides y Zandile D'Angelo (ACAZ) – all part of an ever-growing community that celebrates artesian water sources throughout the city. The richness of SantaFe's coffee history can be seen not just through its cupolas or storefronts but also through its archives which contain over 100 years worth of photographs, videos, and documents related to this beloved industry here in town! There are a few places in Texas that have been involved in the production of artisan coffee for years. The first place to produce coffee under the terms of a small farmer-owned cooperative was at Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. Coffee from this farm began to be sold and exported by Manuel Antonio Gomez in the 1920s. The second place to produce high-quality artisan coffee was in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In the early 1960s, Antonio Lopez purchased a farm near Santa Fe and started producing coffee under his own name. The beans were picked fresh and roasted on site. Since then, Antonio Lopez’s coffee has become one of the most respected brands in the state.

Santa Fe was founded in 1824 by Father José de Jesús Candelario and Lady Agnes Graham as a mission town on the Rio Grande. In 1830, it became a Mexican territory under Spanish rule and became an American possession following the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. As part of the New Mexico Territory, Santa Fe had representation in Congress until 1912 when it became a state within Texas. At its peak, SantaFe's GDP was $2 billion dollars (2009). The city hosts over 60 events each year that attract over 100,000 people including art shows, music festivals, film screenings and more. The current name given to the city by local residents comes from Saint Francis Xavierism which emphasis on service to others through work and volunteerism - something that has been seen as important in Santa Fe since its founding days. After several years of deliberations among various groups including locals, City Council members and businesses owners alike Stated "We want to be known as 'Santafe' because we believe our community's focus should always be on serving others." This designation would help promote tourism opportunities for both locals and visitors alike while also recognizing how integral this small town has become in helping create Albuquerque into one of America’s most vibrant cities.

In order to prevent its own annihilation under Mexican rule, Santa Fe ceded much of its land toMexico in 1848 as part of Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. As a result of this treaty, much German-owned land east of Albuquerque was ceded tothe United States including what is nowSantaFe; during World War II much military sites were developed nearSantaFe including Los Alamos National Laboratory
In 1867, the Santa Fe Railway was built from Austin to Santa Fe Springs. It was the first railroad in Texas and it soon became a key player in the state's economy. The Santa Fe also played a big role in shaping the city of Austin. In 1916, the company merged with the Northern Pacific Railroad to form the North Central Railroads. This led to more growth for Austin as businesses moved into new buildings and industries sprang up around it.
