Rosenberg, Texas is a town in Kerr County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,391 at the 2010 census. Rosenberg was founded by German immigrants in 1874. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Rosenberg Historic District encompasses a variety of early 20th century architecture and buildings dating from 1889 to 1912. The district includes three churches: the First Baptist Church (1889), Second Baptist Church (1893), and Methodist Episcopal church (1912). Other buildings include two schools: Park Elementary School (1892) and McKinney High School (1912). Rosenberg has been known as "The Crossroads of America" for many years because it is the center of Kerr County before it became part of Dallas-Fort Worth. According to one legend, when President James K. Polk was traveling through the area in 1845, he stopped at an old log cabin on the bank of Buffalo Bayou and asked its owner how he could get to Mexico City without getting lost. The man told him that Rosenberg was about four miles east of Buffalo Bayou and pointwise across from where he lived. When Polk arrived in town on his way back home from Mexico City, he toured the business district and decided that this place should be named after him -Polk's Crossing - so plantation life would begin there rather than further down Buffalo Bayou where people were already starting to populate what would eventually become Dallas-Fort Worth." Rosenberg had no rail service until 1865 when a branch line opened between Waco & Beaumont which connected with Houston mainline trains at Rosenberg station

Rosenberg, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. Rosenberg was founded in 1881 by John Rosenberg and his family. It has been home to a variety of businesses and families since that time. The Rosenberg family is still involved in the community today with John's son, Dennis, being the current Mayor of Rosenberg. The town began as a cattle ranch and farming community. In 1881, John Rosenberg purchased 5 acres of land in what is now Rosenberg from James Hodge. The first store opened in 1882 on Main Street - later renamed Boulevard - and served as the center of local trade for many years. A post office was established in 1883, and remained open until it closed in 1944. In 1916, Gus Weingarten bought land adjacent to present-day Rosenberg from Hodge for $1,000 cash. He built an addition to his farm called Weingarten Place which became known as one of the most popular tourist destinations around town because of its unique architecture and features. Weingarten also donated all or part of several other properties including two cemeteries (Logan Cemetery & Mount Carmel Cemetery) to support growth in the area during that time period – making Rosenberg one of the earliest settlements within Hudspeth County alone! During World War II residents mobilized to help provide food for troops stationed nearby at Fort Hood (later Houston), Barker Army Airfield (later Houston Hobby Airport), Beaumont Army Base (now Beaumont Enterprise Municipal Airport), Corpus Christi Naval Shipyard (now Corpus Christi Port Arthur Naval Station), Richmond Navy Yard (now Richmond City limits), Camp Livingston near Alpine Village east of San Angelo on Trinity River where Japanese POWs were held after their surrender; these activities helped contribute to munitions production throughout much of southwestern Texas during wartime! Borough meetings were held throughout 1945/46 discussing plans for future development; proposals were submitted by various groups interested in setting up business or living within the boundaries of Rosenthal Township – some even specifying areas such as developing an urban core around schools or forming cooperative ventures with other communities! Today there are few remnants remaining from those early days except for some small acreage used by volunteer fire departments currently managed by Memorial Park District #2 which borders present day Rosenthal Township on three sides! Apostolic Chapel across from Highway 183 along IH 20 reopened after being closed due to weather damage on Oct 12th 2006 following Hurricane Ike aftermath ..The chapel services continue every Sunday morning @9am thru 11am..
