The United States Air Force deployed gift history in Rockwall, Texas on December 12, 1947. The air force installation was the first in the region and it served as an airbase for fighter pilots during World War II. It also became a training ground for bomber pilots during the Cold War. Today, the air force installation is home to more than 6,000 military personnel and their families. The United States Air Force Deployment History Museum opened its doors in 1996 and has collection of more than 2 million items from across the USAF's deployment history. The museum offers exhibits on aircraft, munitions, service members and their families. It also has a library that provides research resources on USAF deployments around the world since World War II. In honor of USAF Deployment History Month in November 2017, we are pleased to share some highlights from our museum’s collection of gifts from individuals and groups who have supported US armed forces abroad over time. This year’s focus is on donations made by local residents to support military installations worldwide – something that dates back centuries!
The United States Air Force Deployed a Gift to the People of Haiti. The gift was two Humvees and an airfield. The U.S. Air Force donated these vehicles to the Haitian government in order to help with relief efforts following the devastating earthquake that struck the island nation on January 12th, 2010. The helicopters were used for search and rescue operations as well as providing transportation for supplies and personnel during the relief effort. Additionally, the airfield was used by military aircraft conducting airstrikes against rebel positions in eastern Haiti. ThisOperation is a testament to America’s commitment to its friends and allies across the globe. It also underscores how important it is for countries such as Haiti to have access to quality human resources, technology, and infrastructure in order to provide stability and support their citizens during times of upheaval or crisis.
On Dec. 20, 1941, the United States Air Force deployed a gifts for all occasion gift to Rockwall. The gift was the P-47 Thunderbolt fighter plane. The plane flew into action in World War II and is considered one of the most famous planes in history.
Rockwall is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls–Manitoba Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Rockwall was James “Jimmie” Hardeman in 1875. He and his family bought 640 acres (258 hectares) of land from David Waddell for $2 per acre. The Hardemans built a log cabin on their tract and named it "Rockwall". They raised hogs, chickens, pigs and cattle there until 1903 when they sold their land to John Fenton for $10 per acre. In 1907, Fenton organized the Wichita Falls Township Association which included Rockwall. On November 3 that year, he delivered a charter to the association making it an incorporated municipality with its own government and police department! In 1916, Jens Hansen (a Norwegian immigrant who had also come to America) arrived in Rockwall with his family and started farming corn on 320 acres (128 hectares). By 1922 he had improved the farm to 2 square miles (4square kilometers). His son-in-law Harry Vinson took over operation of the farm after Jens died in 1951. Vinson's daughter married Jimmie Hardeman's grandson Jesse Hardeman Sr., who continued operations until 1977 when he passed away at age 98 years old. In 1955 Lillie Ritchie moved into town from Marshalltown where she had been working as a maid/housekeeper for Mrs Haney & Son ranch near Wichita Falls.. She opened her own restaurant called "Theloe's" which served breakfast through lunch until 1967 when she retired because of health problems.. After Lillie's death her husband Donnie ran the restaurant until it closed down in 1984 when he passed away.. Today "Theloe's" still stands vacant but inside you can find some remnants of its past including original menus and photos from that time period

Another prominent deployment occurred during Operation Neptune's Spear in 1999 when American bombers struck Taliban positions in Afghanistan. More than 100 aircraft were dispatched to bomb targets inside Afghanistan, leaving an estimated 60 dead and hundreds injured. This operation is also remembered for providing one of America's largest aerial refuelings ever undertaken - consisting of up to 6 KC-135 Stratofortress tankers providing fuel to American jets flying over Afghanistan at low altitude.

Rockwall is a small town in Rockwall County, Texas, United States. The population was 986 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Rockwall County. Rockwall was founded by Texans in 1837 as a log cabin settlement on the banks of the Trinity River. In 1868, it became an agricultural center with completion of the first railroad through Rock wall County. By 1910, it had reached its present size and importance as a manufacturing and research center for Corning Glass Company and other local businesses. The post office opened in 1909 and closed in 1984; however, ZIP code 76561 has remained unchanged since then. The town grew rapidly after World War II because of military production at nearby Fort Bliss Army Base and Don Mills munitions plants. As rock walls were mined for uranium ore during the war, families living near military bases began to experience rapid growth in their townships adjacent to those factories (the "Uranium Belt"). Today, most residents are farmers or fishermen who still rely heavily on agriculture for their income. In recent years there have been efforts to revive some aspects of traditional life in Rockwall: several restaurants have reopened after being closed for years or were sold off to new owners; a number of individual shops are open again; arts & crafts are popular among residents; and there are periodic festivals including Folklorama from midsummer to October; car shows & auctions each year around Memorial Day weekend; and large family gatherings throughout summertime called "Fiesta."
