Richardson, Texas is a small town located in Johnson County, Texas. The population was 2,752 at the 2010 census. Richardson is home to the Richardson Independent School District and the Richardson-Fort Worth International Airport. The name "Richardson" is derived from English surveyors who named it after General James Hogg (1768-1837) during his 1804 Expedition through Central Texas. After reaching what is now Round Rock, Hogg divided the region into two parts and named one side "Hogg's Hill" while he himself went on to become a major general in Mexico's army under Santa Anna. In later years, other surveyors visited this area and assigned different names to various landmarks as they became more familiar with it. One such name given to a location near present-day Richardson was "Hodge's Hill". In 1881, A.J. Burkhardt donated land in what is today Richardsonsville for a school district which would eventually become Richardson ISD. At that time, most of what is now Johnson County was part of Burnet County and no school districts were established within Johnson County proper until 1909 when Eastlake Consolidated School District was created from pieces of several separate school districts including Burnet and Williamson counties). In 1907, Hughes Construction Company erected the first concrete building in Richardsonsville when it built an elementary school which served students from Addison Road eastward until 1949 when the middle/junior high section of that building was replaced by Richardson High School which still serves these students today (its original facade can be seen behind Myers Elementary on US 67 just south of I-10). In 1927, PPG Industries constructed an oil refinery adjacent to Smith Field Airport making Richardsonsville one of its earliest industrial areas The airport would continue developing over time becoming one of Dallas/Ft Worth's largest aviation hubs with many local companies having their headquarters there including American Airlines (naming their main Terminal 5 after him), Continental Airlines (renaming their terminal 6 after former Vice President Richard Nixon), Shell Oil Company (building Terminal 7 following World War II), Bushkin Airways Incorporated (forming Terminal 8 following Operation Desert Storm) and Ellington Air Force Base( renaming themselves Reagan National Monuments Corporation). All current terminals were built subsequent to this period although some have been rebuilt or added since then! In recent times Richters has experienced significant growth due mainly to its status as a bedroom community for both downtown Dallas & Fort Worth along with its position as an important transportation hub serving both cities by way of I-10 & TX 290

Richardson, Texas is a small town in Eastern Webb County, Texas. It was settled in 1879 by the James and Anna Richardson family. The original town plat was filed on November 8, 1881. The town of Richardson was chartered on December 5, 1886. On July 1, 1907, the towns of Parkland and Whitney were annexed into Richardson. On February 14, 1912, Richardson became the county seat for Webb County. On November 2nd of that year the first election to serve as county judge took place with Lula A. Vinson winning against incumbent Wm Hays. In 1916 an agreement was made between Richardsons and cypress companies to build a pipeline from Houston to Dallas which would be completed in 1918 but never completed due to World War I; this led to a loss for Richardsons in statewide elections that year. In 1928 residents voted to annex Parkland and Whitney back into Richardsontown Limits following efforts by Mayor Harry Coker Sr.. In 1951 voters approved annexation of unincorporated areas of Webb County including portions of present-day Tomball and Spring Branch counties as part of a larger effort known as "The Great Reed Project". This project aimed at increasing agricultural production in these areas while also creating new employment opportunities for local citizens. The project included construction of two ranches - White Sands Ranch east of Tomball and Spanish Springs Ranch west of Spring Branch - as well as the establishment of five businesses including ranch hands’ homes and farm stores along with a school and six churches serving the area encompassing over 20 square miles .
