PORT LAVACA, TX- The history of fresh roasted coffee in Port Lavaca starts with the first coffee beans being grown in this town in 1881. At that time, there were not many farmers in this area and so the coffee was bought from local merchants. In 1909, a new roasting plant was built and began to roast coffee. It was here that the name "Port Lavaca Coffee" was first used to describe the beans. The first people to come to Port Lavaca for work were the soldiers who served during World War I. They brought their own coffee plants with them and started roasting coffee here in 1919. This helped give birth to the current industry of portlavaca coffee. The townspeople soon realized that they needed a place to grow their own coffees and so they started planting crops such as corn, cotton, tomatoes, and watermelons here. In 1936, a company called American Coffee Corporation came into existence and began importing fresh roasted beans from Brazil. They also set up a processing plant here which made it possible for people in Port Lavaca to start buying their own cups of espresso and cappuccino when they wanted them. From then on, portlavaca coffee became one of America's most popular brands!

The city of Port Lavaca, Texas was founded in 1836 by Captain John C. Burnet and his friends. The town grew quickly due to the trade routes that connected Mexico and the United States. By 1849, Port Lavaca had a population of about 10,000 people. It became a booming commercial center thanks to its location on the Gulf of Mexico and its access to shipping lanes. In 1907, Port Lavaca became the first city in Texas to get electricity from electric generating plants.
Port Lavaca, Texas is a town located in the county of Monterrey, Mexico. The population was 2,919 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Monterrey metropolitan area. The community began as a small trading post on the banks of the Brazos River in 1872. In 1907 it became a city and still retains its name today. The first city fathers were George Wigglesworth and Hiram Dixon Beaumont. In 1912 Port Lavaca was annexed by Midland (now Odessa). Midland re-incorporated as Port Lavaca on November 1, 1922. On February 14, 1925, Port Lavaca became an independent municipality with its own mayor and council members. In 1936 then Governor Manuel González de la Torre approved Port Lavaca's annexation into Midland so that Midland could better serve as the new hometown for many Mexican engineers working in America during World War II. However; this move caused some controversy because most of these immigrants were American citizens who had never set foot in Mexico before they arrived in Texas and were not considered Mexicans under Mexican law. On October 14th, 1954 when President Dwight D Eisenhower visited Monterrey he declared that "the cities of Reynosa and Matamoros have become American cites while all other municipalities within their boundaries remain under Mexican control." This decision effectively ended any unilateral annexation attempts by either city by Port Lavaca which continued to exist separate from both towns despite being municipally owned until 1959 when they merged into one municipality under Mayor José Gomez García Ramos III with full power over all municipal affairs including annexations from other municipalities without formal approval from either party (see following section for more details). As a result of this merger politics started to play a much larger role than ever before inside the Municipality with decisions made about development plans, land use etc., which resulted in long term effects on local demographics and economy – although there has been occasional efforts to bring back annexations throughout recent years due to changing political landscape or disagreements between City Council members over how best to serve their constituents

Port Lavaca, Texas is a town located in southern Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It became an incorporated town in 1907. The name of the town derived from Lovaça Creek and Spanish for "patchouli." The first Port Lavaca post office opened on February 17, 1868, under the name of Whitsett. In 1902, the Post Office moved to its current location and changed its name to Port Lavaca. The port facility at the mouth of Lovaça Creek served as a local commercial center until it closed in 1984 due to lack of demand. Today there are several small businesses that operate out of the area's two churches: First Baptist and Assemblies of God. "The history of Port Lavaca can be traced back to when pioneers arrived in this area during the early 1800s." In 1907, citizens voted unanimously to incorporate as an unincorporated community named after José Antonio Lovaça who donated land for the new town site on which it stands today. At first only male residents were allowed to vote; however, this policy changed in 1912 when women were added to the community charter. Lovaça was originally a cattle rancher with his herds grazing on about 400 acres near what is now downtown Port Lavaca. He also established stores and other businesses around what is now First Baptist Church Complex where he resided from 1868-1891 before moving into his more permanent home across Whitsett Street from today's Presbyterian church (now known as Assemblies of God United Methodist). In 1915 when World War I began efforts were made by local farmers and merchants within hours or days to collect supplies needed for troops stationed nearby in San Antonio prior to Ulysses S Grant's march into Austin Heights Cemetery led by General John J Pershing II through streetsboro Blvd., Third Street & Slaughter Road we soon found out that there would be no rations available so many individuals decided they would rather just go hungry than fight! That same year our first post officeopened with mail being delivered by wagonloads all day long! Way back then even if you didn't have your own horse or cart you could come down here and pick up your mail right off our front porch! Our storekeepers would spread their boxes around like so much furniture until they finally had room inside! We pretty much functioned as a rural post office until 1934 when we moved into our present building which has been our headquarters ever since!"
The town of Lavaca was founded by the Texans in 1836. The town developed as a cattle and cotton center, and eventually became a major railroad junction. In the late 1800s, Lavaca was home to one of the most famous oil refineries in Texas.
