In 1922, Mayor Gentry appointed Mrs. Myrtle Witherspoon as curator of cultural resources and directed her to create a gift shop in order to sell items related to maritime heritage. The town continued to designation its own governing body until 1959 when it became part of Conroe Township. Since then, marine gifts have been integral to the lifeblood of Pflugerville residents. In 1978, Mayor John Fenton established the Museum of Maritime Heritage which operates continuously today thanks in large part to donations from citizens and businesses throughout our community! Today’s museum features more than 2200 artifacts from both local and global maritime history including boats, anchors, bells and whistles from around the world!

Pflugerville is a city located in Kerr County, Texas, United States. The population was 13,812 at the 2010 census. Pflugerville is the largest city in Kerr County and the county seat of Kerr County. The city is named after Julius Pfluger, an early settler and entrepreneur who developed the area around what is now Pflugerville. Pflugerville began as a Native American settlement on the east bank of the Trinity River. A post office was established here in 1868, and by 1880, it had become one of the most important settlements in Kerr County. In 1887, Julius Pfluger donated land to make up what would become part of present-day Pflugerville. He named his donation "Pflegerville" in honor of himself and his wife Elisabeth (née Weil). The first store in present-day PFLUGERVILLE opened its doors on October 24, 1888. By 1902, there were three stores operating within town limits: A&W Store #1 on Main Street; Mrs. Jensons' general store on Elm Street; and Drury's grocery store on Second Avenue. Wire goods became popular during this time period because they could be shipped quickly via wagon or train to marketplaces throughout America. In 1907, a new water system was built for townspeople and farmers alike; it included a well that still stands today and remains one of the earliest public works ever done in South Texas! The town also erected its first schoolhouse in 1909 – which served as both local government center and primary school until 1938 when it was replaced by modern facilities adjacent to newer juvenile detention facilities! It wasn't until 1916 that electric lights were added to village boundaries – making PFLUGERVILLE one of only two towns west of Interstate 10 with this type of infrastructure! During World War II (1939-1945), many residents chose to serve their country through military service – including helping build roadsides along I-10A between Mexico City and Amarillo; pumping gasoline from wells near Fort Worth into tanks driving supplies back home across Red River Valley; working at various munitions plants near Waco TX; or moonlighting as tool delivery drivers for local companies! Many residents also took advantage of discounted rates offered by participating airlines while they were deployed abroad! Afterward came economic hard times that brought about mass layoffs among businesses throughout South Texas during 1948–1949 – including several stores within town limits which closed their doors entirely due to financial problems! However, soon after reverses occurred within those businesses which allowed some reopened but struggling with increased competition from other retailers!! This gave rise to what has been known locally as "the rebirth years" for many small businesses scattered around downtown since then!!! Overall though these difficult times did not stop people from coming togetherframing events such as art shows/festivals/etc., giving shape & life back into old properties!"

Pflugerville is a small town located in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Pflugerville is the county seat of Tarrant County and one of its three cities. The other two are Fort Worth and Arlington. The first settlers in what is now Pflugerville were Germans who arrived there in 1849. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Trinity River and called it "Fürstenwald". When they failed to find any tilled land for their crops, they returned to Germany in 1850. A group of United States citizens traveled to Germany in 1851 to purchase some land from the Germans, but they did not find any suitable sites for settlements back home so they decided to move their families into what is now Pflugerville instead. On July 25, 1853, Ulysses S. Grant named the town after John C. Flughorn, an American general and member of Congress from Illinois who had been wounded during the Mexican-American War. In 1865, General William Tecumseh Sherman's army passed through Tarrant County on its way northward during his Union Expedition against Confederate forces near Dallas/Fort Worth (then within Mexico). Sherman's troops stopped at Fürstenwald Inn on their way north and ordered all the German settlers out of their homes just before entering into Texas that October night with orders not to come back untillater that year under penalty of execution by firing squad if they did so! Some did return after narrowly evading capture by federal forces; others chose exile rather than submit to Yankee rule (see Eager Swarms). Pflugerville's first school was opened in 1870 by Mrs. Luella Matson as part of a larger educational effort in Tarrant County led by Mrs. Houston Nutting and her husband Major General Houston Nutting II (1825-1910), father-in-law of Senator James Buchanan III (1848-1925).Following General Sherman's visit there in 1865 many German immigrants set up agricultural operations around Fort Worth which caused great trouble for local farmers because most access roads leading into or out of town were single track only gravel paths made available only to military officers few civilians could afford horseback riding adventures along them...the farmers became known as "the fortneros" because no one could get through without getting help from higher ups or paying top dollar! In 1896 when Prohibition was repealed Pflugerville voted overwhelmingly against prohibitionist candidate Grover Cleveland despite his appeal letters signed by Mayor Wahlstrom begging for support! In response Grover Cleveland sent tanks into town demanding compliance with prohibition laws he then vetoed items like road paving money which angered many people especially since he had previously supported prohibition himself After much excitement local store owner Henson allowed beer sales starting late Oct 96 finally enforcing Prohibition less than one week following repeal
