Pflugerville is a town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Pflugerville's economy revolves around agriculture and ranching. The first European to visit what is now Pflugerville was Captain James Fenton on May 25, 1836. He named it Fort Fenton in honor of General James K. Polk who had led Ulysses S. Grant's march through Texas on his way to the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). In 1847 local pioneer Jens Christensen founded a small post office here which continued until 1872 when it was moved to Shermanville due to railroad construction east of town. In 1886 Pflugerville was platted as a town and named for Julius C box Elder Pflueger who donated land for the community center and two public schools (now known as Guthrie Elementary School and Pflueger Middle School). The post office operated from 1886 until 1931 when it became an independent municipality under its own jurisdiction with its own government headed by a three-member board of trustees which included one member from each township within Johnson County; however, day-to-day operations remained conducted by the Board of Trustees with supervision from the county courthouse located in nearby Round Rock until 1959 when all township offices were transferred there also. On November 15, 1959, voting results showed that Lyndon B Johnson had been elected President resulting in a sweeping change throughout much of America including changes within Johnson County as well where PFLUGERVILLE became an unincorporated community once again enjoying full municipal status with its own governing body and police department under the direct jurisdiction of that body while retained rights to use county services such as fire departments and courts etc.. On January 1st 1960 all unincorporated residents living insideJohnson County lines were reclassified into incorporated municipalities effective immediately without any further vote or notice being given either party involved thereby finally putting an end to over fifty years of separate jurisdictional existence for what would eventually become just one Municipality -PFLUGERVILLE

Pflugerville, Texas is a small town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock-San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pflugerville was founded on November 6, 1879 by German immigrants Wilhelm and Anna Pohlmeier. The name "Pflugerville" comes from the German word " Pfuhl," meaning stream. The first post office in Pflugerville was established in 1881. In 1906, the town's incorporation took place and it became a city on December 15 of that year. The population of Pflugerville grew rapidly during its early years and reached 3,000 by 1912. However, World War I caused a significant decrease in population growth and the city eventually fell to 1,500 residents by 1925 when automobiles began to become more common. The city experienced another rapid growth spurt during World War II as war production increased; however again this prosperity stopped after 1945 due to shortages of raw materials brought about by the Cold War era economy which had changed drastically since World War II ended. During these years there were several attempts to revive the downtown business district but all failed until 2006 when an agreement was made between local businesses and the City of Austin for redevelopment into a mixed use project known as South Lamar Boulevardfront Business District (SLBD). Today Pflugerville has seen renewed economic activity thanks to SLBD with new restaurants opening up as well as renovations being made to many old buildings including its iconic hotel which now houses apartments In recent years much attention has been paid to downtown revitalization efforts led by Mayor Lee Adkins who has launched numerous campaigns aimed at increasing foot traffic throughout downtown while also creating public art installations that can be seen from all miles around town including along South Lamar Boulevardfront Business District
