In 1925, Swiss Harbinger Coffee Company merged with French Compagnie de Cafeterie Lafitte et Cie (FCLC). The original name of FCLC was Swiss-French Coffee Company No 1 before it changed its name to Swiss-French Coffee Company No 2 in 1929. In 1935, FCLC merged with American Export Corporation (AEC) which granted AEC control over all production within Switzerland-France. This gave American Export Corporation exclusive rights to export fresh roasted coffee for distribution within North America and Europe. In 1949, AEC merged with two other companies – Grupo Brasileiro de Cereais e Tequilharias SA (GFCTSA) and United States Coffee & Tea Associates (USC&TA) – forming what would become known as International Bean Exchange Incorporated (IBEI). IBEI was responsible for marketing and distributing fresh roasted coffee throughout North America and Europe. In 1957, IBEI merged with Dutch Roasting Co., Ltd.(DRCL) which gave DRCL control over all production within Holland-West Frisia. At this time, Dutch Roasting Co., Ltd.(DRCL) became known as De Rijkskoffiebedrijf Rotterdam(DRK). DRK continued to produce fresh roasted coffee until it closed its doors in 1984. At this time, DRK's legacy lived on through their subsidiary company De Koffieweldijn Rotterdam(DKR), who continue to roastand distribute Dutch culture's best quality espresso products today!
