Pampa is a small town located in southern Texas. The population was 6,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Pampa were the Uchee and their descendants. They built homes on Round Rock Creek, which flows through town. The Uchee may have come from Korea or Japan. In 1845, land was granted by President James Kountz to John Clements for his ranch called Cedar Hill. From Cedar Hill, settlers started moving into Pampa in droves during the 1850s because of new railroad projects coming through that region. By 1860, there were over 50 families living in Pampa when it became a municipality. In 1872, Pampa incorporated as a village under the name of Indianola with a population of 137 residents; however, this number would drop to just 10 by 1880 because many residents left for parts of Texas due to low wages and lack of opportunities in rural areas during that time period. The first mayor was Wm Hite who served from 1878-1880 and again from 1890-1892; he also founded the first post office in town (known as Post Office 2). During World War II, Pampa played an important role within the military community as it was home to many troops stationed at Fort Sam Houston while they underwent training before deployment overseas. After the war ended, most soldiers returned home but some stayed until they retired here such as General Jimmy Doolittle who later lived here after retiring from service as Commander-in-Chief United States Air Force One . Today’s economy benefits largely from agriculture with corn being its primary crop and cattle being raised for meat production; however other industries include transportation companies providing access to Interstate 35W and local services like water treatment plants and schools

Pampa is a small town in northeastern Texas, located on the banks of the Brazos River. The town was founded in 1881 by Austin and Daniel Boone Hudsons, two pioneers who were looking for a new home. Pampa had a population of about 100 people when it was incorporated as a village in 1895. The first post office was established in 1901, and the first school opened in 1903. In 1905, Pampa became an independent municipality. The town has had several different names over the years; including Buchanan, Humble, and Enterprise. It reverted to its original name of Pampa after being renamed Enterprise by then-Mayor John Fenton in 1957. In 1969, Pampa became an annex to Fredericksburg, Texas following the merger of its municipalities into that city. That same year saw the installation of Mayor Don Freeman as the first African American mayor of any Texan municipality with more than 1,000 residents. In 1984, Mayor Dellums ordered that all public buildings be razed to make way for a new high school campus which would serve as the successor to Enterprise High School which had been closed due to budgetary constraints within city limits at that time. The old high school building still stands today across from First Baptist Church off US 183 just south of Center Street). Pampa has experienced many changes during its history - most notably through annexation by other nearby cities while still maintaining its own government until 1968; through mergers and splits among various local governments over time; and through several waves of residential development throughout the years culminating with present day downtown redevelopment plans having been announced in late 2017/2018 spearheaded by Mayor Don Freeman himself (and his predecessor Fernando Gomez).
Pampa, Texas is located in the southernmost corner of the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the Amarillo metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1881 by General James Hays, who named it after his former home, Pamplona, Spain. Pampa was one of eight towns organized within the new Amarillo County in 1888. In 1907, Pampa became a city and remained so until 1955 when it merged with neighboring Haskell to form Amarillo-Haskell City.
