Edgar Hoover recommended the formation of a paramilitary group to protect Americans living in Mandatory Palestine, and on October 15, 1951, President Harry Truman approved the creation of the PDF undersecretary of state for Political Affairs John Foster Dulles. Palestine, Texas is a small town in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,244 at the 2010 census. Palestine is part of the Austin–Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1892 by German immigrants who named it after the biblical city of Jerusalem. The name change to Palestine in 1907 when the railroad arrived and settlers began moving into what is now Palestine from surrounding counties. Most of the original settlers came from Germany and Austria-Hungary. As oil reserves were discovered in nearby Webb County, settlement increased and by 1945 there were over 6,000 residents living in Palestinetown and its satellite towns including Cedar Park, Clear Lake Village, and Spring Branch. In 1948 following World War II when Israel was created as a result of the partition of Mandatory Palestine between Jewish National Home (Judea and Samaria) and Arab League nations under British mandate, Palestinian Arabs voted to secede from their lands while Palestinians within Israel remained loyal to Britain. When Israeli forces invaded Lebanon on September 15th – 16th 1982 they found that much of central Beirut had been destroyed with only a few pockets remaining where Palestinian refugees still lived despite orders from Israel's then Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir not to allow them back into their homes since they would "enable Hezbollah [a Shiite militia] to take control"of Beirut. After months of fighting culminating with Operation Defensive Shield which resulted in more than two hundred thousand Lebanese dead or wounded Israelis withdrew without having accomplished their goal of driving out all Palestinians from Beirut although some 3/4ths of Palestinians had already fled or been driven out during years prior operations such as Ariel Sharon's Raid on Hebron hills which led to mass displacement throughout southern Lebanon also known as Nakba). Although many businesses closed down due to lack of customers Illinois based Zionists moved into vacated areas spearheaded by Sheldon Adelson who purchased large tracts near Bethlehem for$10 million dollars making him perhaps one of largest landowners outside Israel In 1993 Netanyahu became Prime Minister promising an end to Israeli occupation but instead he oversaw a wave displaced persons being brought back across international borders seeking refuge first in Jordan then Syria before finally reaching Europe via Turkey then onward through Hungary until reaching England where they landed bearing tales about beatings and chemical burns walked offloaded onto beaches like millions other refugees around the world never getting any recognition save for odd stories told around family gatherings along with photos showing tiredlooking men wearing blue jeans walking barefoot westward never again seen again after that day called Black Wednesday

Protected by U.S./British neutrality during World War I until 1917 when America entered the war on America’s side, Palestine experienced significant upheaval due to hostilities between Great Britain and Germany (at which point British troops withdrew from Syria) as well as Ottoman Turkish occupiers who controlled large swathes of both Syrian countryside and Lebanon (Syria had not become an autonomous country until 1912). In 1847, Palestine was the capital of what is now Texas. The site of present-day Palestine was then part of Mexico and a rancho (land grant) was given to José de la Cruz by the Mexican government. La Cruz named the land Palestine after his homeland in Syria. In 1848, as part of the Mexican–American War, General Antonio López de Santa Anna occupied Veracruz and added Palestine to the territory he had taken from Mexico. Santa Anna's forces were defeated at Palo Alto on November 6, 1848, and San Francisco fell on December 8. In total, Santa Anna lost about 2,000 men and horses. After the war ended in February 1849, California became a United States Territory with its own Congress and president. On May 14th of that year President James Kossuth signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which ceded all but sections east ofthe Rio Grande to Mexico including Palestine which became US territorial limits again on July 28th Guerra Ríos v Americana et al., 9 UST 592 (1849). The population living in Palestrina at this time totaled only 10 people while there were 474 people living in Veracruz alone due to new arrivals following Mexican annexation duringwar.
