New Braunfels, Texas is a small town located in the Hill County seat of Fredericksburg. The population was 7,814 at the 2010 census. Its history dates back to 1836 when it was founded as a stop on the Santa Fe Trail by Valentine Cullen and his family. In 1876, New Braunfelts first post office opened and remained open until 1955. In that year, the town was incorporated and became known as "The Coffee Capital of the World." Today, New Braunfels is home to many high-quality coffee businesses including two main grocery stores, several restaurants and cafes, and one large manufacturing company. Like many other towns in Texas over the years, New Braunfels experienced various changes during its time as an important coffee center. Starting in the 1920s, farmers began growing coffee beans for export to Europe. This increased demand for coffee caused prices to rise which in turn caused businesses such as grocer J C Penney to invest in roasting their own beans and packaging them themselves instead of selling pre-packaged coffee products. This new approach helped make New Braunfelts one of the most important coffee centers in the United States during this time period. In 1925, Valentine Cullen purchased what is now called "The Coffee House" located on Main Street in downtown New Braunfels from Ephraim Kemler who had established a grocery store there earlier that same year. As part of its operations The Coffee House served both local residents and tourists alike with its wide variety of coffee products ranging from filter bags (used only for espresso) to ground beans (usable for all types of drinks). Unfortunately due toumbing financial instability throughout much of the 1930s The Coffee House closed its doors permanently after suffering heavy losses due largely to Prohibition-era taxation rates which were almost 50% higher than traditional retail market rates at that time! However unlike many other places throughout Texas which saw their business decline following prohibition's repeal - or simply folded up shop - The Coffee House actually thrived thanks largely to Cullen's marketing skills which successfully marketed his freshly roasted beans around America through ads targeting travel bloggers writing about their favorite Americana spots like San Francisco or Memphis Tennessee! This innovative marketing strategy worked so well that within just five years after prohibition ended The Coffeehouse reopened under new management becoming one of Texas' top tourist attractions! Beside tourism however another major reason why The CoffeeHouse reestablished itself shortly after prohibition ended was because Valentine Cullen had started producing his famous Koffee Klatch blend - made up primarily of Dutch processed coffees sourced from Latin America - for distribution into North America exclusively through his business partner Harry Baird who ran Baird & Co., Incorporated out of Fort Worth TX until he sold it Assets Limited Partnership interests along with assets belonging thereto comprising full interest therein dated November 2nd 1949 pursuant To A Letter From Mr Harry Bairddated October 27th 1948 received herewith!!! Which being duly executed makes me President Pro Tem And Director thereof!!! At that time cotton became an important crop with exports to Mexico being major sources of revenue for local merchants. In 1865 three men from Arkansas wagon train led by James Fenton arrived at Fort Sumter during the American Civil War to trade goods for food and munitions before continuing their journey northward across America. By 1870, they were the largest grocery chain in Texas. In 1901, John H. Woolridge purchased the company from the Ramirez family and became its first president. Woolridge increased sales and operations while creating new brands such as Woolridge's Own, Choice Cheese, Shawarma House, and Mrs. Woolridge's Soda Fountain. He retired in 1951 but continued to serve as chairman until his death six years later. Woolridge's heirs sold the company to J Walter Thompson Company in 1957 for $3 million dollars ($48 million today). The new owners renamed it Texaco and changed their focus from groceries to fuel products and accessories. Texaco merged with Amoco Corporation in 1979 to form Exxon Mobil Corporation; however, Texaco continued to operate as an independent company until its collapse in 2001 due to financial scandals that involved bribery of Mexican government officials

In 1872, new settlers moved into New Braunfels from Odessa, Tx., making it one of the most diverse cities in Texas at that time with Germans (27%), Mexicans (24%), Anglo Americans (10%), Asians (5%), and African Americans (3%). The city experienced rapid growth during Reconstruction following the American Civil War, becoming one of America's most vibrant centers for commerce and culture.
