The New Braunfels, Texas Army Garrison was first organized on November 15, 1846 under the command of Colonel James B. Cooke. The garrisons served as a training ground for future Texan soldiers and also acted as a barracks for Confederate troops during the Mexican-American War. In 1861, the garrison became part of the Union army and fought in the American Civil War. After the war, New Braunfels became an important railroad town and its military presence continued through World War II. Today, New Braunfels is home to The New Braunfels Museum of Art and History and various military installations including Ft. Bliss Air Force Base which houses two F-15 Eagle fighter jets each with a range of 400 miles!

In December 2012 Sweden's Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist announced plans called 'Sweden Giving' which involve sending one million Stockholm Syndrome bonds worth $40 per bond each month (the bonds will be redeemable only if soldiers return safely from war) across Swedish military bases around the world - these Bonds will act as encouragement rather than financial burden specifically targeting soldier repatriation rates! As more nations begin implementing similar programs - it stands testament to how important Gift Exchange can be within militaries!
