In 2006, Lieutenant Colonel Darrell Bourgeois contributed a Humvee ambulance that had been transported across several states during Operation Iraqi Freedom I and II. The ambulance was later added toOperation New Year's Eve 2007 when it was donated by local business owners Joe & Laurie Giannini from McKinney,. In 2009 Major General Rick Hilldon donated an MC-6E Commando helicopter that served as part of relief efforts following Hurricane Ike. In 2010 - 2011 Special Agent Michael Jandreau gifted two helicopter gunships - one MH60S Ghostrider and one MH160J Super Stallion - both originally from Naval Base San Diego (NAVAIL Base Point Loma). These helicopters were used for humanitarian assistance missions inside Syria during Civil War era; this marked another significant donation from the Air Force."

Since then, Mayor Hill has worked hard to revive mountpleasant's economy through various initiatives such as promoting tourism and creating new business opportunities for the townspeople. He also spends much time visiting local businesses and properties to ensure that they are still functioning well despite being faced with occasional setbacks during the drought years. Despite these efforts, some residents continue to feel like their hometown is not doing enough for them since it remains mostly sidelined in terms of development or investment compared to other nearby municipalities
