The history of high-quality coffee in Mineral Wells, Texas goes back to the early 1800s. The first time coffee was grown in this area was on a small farm near the town. By 1892, Coffee and Grain had started trading in Mineral Wells and began buying beans from local growers. In 1912, J.W. Gibson founded the First National Coffee Company in Mineral Wells and began selling coffee from his store. In 1916, the first office building for what is now known as Starbucks was built in Miner Wells. Over time, other businesses such as Donut King Starbucks became synonymous with high quality coffee in our town. Today, there are over 40 businesses that sell coffee throughout Mineral Wells including Donut King Starbucks and several restaurants along Main Street including Posto Latino and Hard Rock Cafe. The population of Mineral Wells was reported as being over 7500 in 1900. Today, the population of Mineral Wells is estimated to be less than 1000 people. In 1881, members of the Flynn County Agricultural Society organized a farmers’ market in what is now downtown Mineral Wells. This market served as an important link between local farmers and buyers from surrounding counties. In 1884, the first post office was established in Mineral Wells with Lillie Ewell as the first postmaster. By 1890, there were five merchant stores in town; two grocery stores (Fenton Bros., store #1), one hardware store (Norman Hargrave & Son), one druggist (John Groom), and one millinery shop (Mrs. Jno.] A paper mill was built at this time by George Armstrong & Sons on Main Street; it operated until 1922 when it went out of business due to technology advances. In 1902-1903 a large dam was constructed across the Comal River near present day Gulf View Drive to provide power for irrigation purposes in central Texas. This project led to new development around Mineral Wells such as schools, churches, businesses and homes; today these buildings still stand among other reminders of early Miner wells life。 In 1923 Coal MinesTexan bought all US rights to Uranium ore from American Mines Syndicate which continued operations until 1951 when they closed down because no more uranium could be found within reach for processing

Mineral Wells was founded in 1868 by Brigham Young and his followers as a wagon stop on the Santa Fe Trail. In 1880, it became an agricultural center with processing of cotton and other crops into flour and feed. A post office was established in 1881, and a paper mill was built in 1886. The town declined during the Great Depression but regained some popularity during World War II when munitions were produced there for the United States Army. As of the 2010 census, Mineral Wells had a total population of 2,031.
