Mansfield, Texas is known as the coffee capital of the world. The city was founded in 1885 by J.T. Mansfield and his brother-in-law, George Hearn. In 1912, Mr. Mansfield donated land to the town for a coffee bean warehouse and processing plant. This facility would be one of the most important in Mansfield until it closed in 1984. The city also has two other notable landmarks: the Mansfield Coffee Company building, built in 1902, and John Hargrave's grocery store, which was built in 1913. The first coffee beans were grown on this property in 1885 by J.T., who named his new business after himself and his brother-in-law George Hearn (pictured). One of Mansfield’s early pioneers in coffee production was Hiram Stevens (1828 – 1903), who started a small family farm near present day downtown Mansfield with three acres of beans that he sold to J T Mansfield for $8 per bushel at auction in 1862! It wasn’t until 1880 that caffeine began being sent from Brazil to America via ship through New Orleans! In 1912, John Hargrave opened up his grocery store on Elm Street adjacent to what is now the Harris County Courthouse – considered then as one of Austin’s premiere retail shopping destinations! His establishment became one of Austin’s most popular hangouts during prohibition era due its wide availability of quality US branded products at an affordable price point! Today you can still find some great provisions from John Hargrave including hard boiled eggs and bacon – all made fresh daily just like they did back then!
There is no doubt that coffee has a long and venerable history. The roots of coffee can be traced back to the ancient Egyptians, who drank ground beans in their morning prayers. Coffee was also consumed by the Greeks and Romans, who brewed it using different methods including roasting, grinding and boiling. In 1795, Dutchman Johann Georg Hasse began exporting coffee to the United States from his plantation in Java. Coffee became popular in America because it was used as a stimulant for workers in the early 1800s. By 1825, coffee had become an important crop in California and was being grown on large plantations throughout the Southwest. In 1876, Swiss entrepreneur Karl Kapp created Kapp's Coffee Company with some of the first automated brewing systems for Starbucks. The popularity of espresso (a kind of Italian roast) led to other cafes beginning to experiment with high-quality variations of this style of coffee such as Lungo (long) or Robusto (short). These unique coffees are often enjoyed by people who are not interested in buying whole bean beans at every store. Rather, they purchase preground or blend coffees which they then enjoy at home or elsewhere within their community.
Mansfield is the birthplace of coffee, and the town has a rich coffee history dating back to at least the 1840s. The first commercial beans were roasted in Mansfield by an early German immigrant family, and it was from these beans that Brazilian-born Antonio Carlos da Silva started his business in 1851. In 1865, he founded Jardim do Coffee, which became one of the largest coffee companies in Brazil. Meanwhile, Dutchman Hendrik Jan van Rensselaer began importing coffee from Africa in 1872 and established a small grocery store near the Mansfield Railroad Station. This store acted as a base for Van Rensselaer's operations until he moved to New York City in 1892. In 1895, American Isaac Rosenwald bought Jardim do Coffee and continued its growth into the 20th century. Rosenwald was an important figure in modern coffee culture and is considered one of the key developers of espresso technology. He also founded several other influential businesses such as The Cloisters Brewing Company and National Coffee Corporation. Finally, after purchasing Rosenwald's share of The Cloisters Brewery in 1946, Harry Potter then became one of Mansfield's most famous residents when he opened his own tea shop on Main Street called Harry Potter & Sons Tea Emporium (later renamed Harry Potter & Son).

Mansfield is located on the banks of the Trinity River and is one of five towns in Medina County that are served by Mansfield Independent School District. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,711 people, 2,951 households, and 1,839 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,914.5 inhabitants per square mile (667.2/km²). There were 3,011 housing units at an average density of 796.1 per square mile (291.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 96% White Protestant and 4% Hispanic or Latino

Mansfield was founded in 1836 by John Mansfield and his family. The town became a cattle market for the surrounding area and grew rapidly thanks to its location, access to water supplies, and agricultural production. In the late 1800s, Mansfield began to become known as a center of education and culture with numerous colleges and universities located in or close by. In the 1920s, Mansfield experienced rapid economic growth due to its proximity to Dallas, Texas and other major metropolitan areas. The town continued to grow through the years until it reached its current size in the mid-2000s.
