In 1904, Mr. andMrs. Cauldwell moved from their home on Second Street to their current home on Main Street which is now known as the Old Post Office building that served as both homes for Mr.Cauldwell until his death in 1984 and Mrs.Cauldwell until her death in 2000! On January 1, 1907, Mr . Jethro Ladd made his debut appearance before Judge Witherspoon when he plead guilty to driving while intoxicated! He received a five year sentence but was released after serving two years! In 1911, Mr Ladd founded City Savings & Loan Association which continues to operate today! In 1916MrLadd married Miss Ada Fenton who would later become one of the most influential women ever associated with Mansfield!! In 1929MissFenton gave birth to their only child named Darrell Ladd Jr who would later become CEO of First AmericanBank-Mansfield!!! On May 15th 1951 two brothers - Leroy Edwin (Deuce) and Chester Eldridge (Chocolate) Ladd Sr., sons ofMrL additive father-in-law Darrell Ladd Jr.-opened up Ladd's Drive-In restaurant located at 400 N Comanche St!!!! It has been said that this restaurant is where Manisdale started off as an agricultural community !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On October 14th 1979 four young men - Leroy Edwin (Deuce)Ledd III (Chocolate), Chester Eldridge (Chocolate), Roy Moorehead (Happy Hill)and Donny Ferguson (Dirty Jobs)-opened up Darnell's Department Store located at 601 S Cedar Falls Ave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It has been said that this store helped revive downtown Manisdale once again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On January 1st 1981Donny Ferguson became Manager of Darnell's Department Store !!!! It has been said that Donny Fergusonavoided more economic pain than any other individual during his time as Manager !!!

Mansfield is a town in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,532 at the 2010 census. Mansfield is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The name "Mansfield" comes from the Cherokee word manse meaning "house." Mansfield was founded by pioneer settlers in 1835 and named for John Mansfeld, an early settler. The first post office in Mansfield was established on March 8, 1836, under the name of Dentonville. In 1839, the town site was patented to Elisha Hartsock and named for him. A new courthouse and jail were built in 1840; both remain standing today. In 1851 it became a city with incorporation as Mansfield Township. Mansfield was founded in 1849 by Jasper Mansfield and his wife, Esther. The town grew quickly, and by 1870 it had a population of over 300 people. In 1903, the Mansfields donated land to the city of Mansfield for a park, which is now known as the Jasper Mansfield Park. In 1918, the city of Mansfield created a zoning ordinance to limit development in the town center. This caused much protest from residents who felt that their homes were being taken away for use as public space. The ordinance was repealed in 1971.
