The Mansfield Army National Guard was organized on December 14, 1916. The original unit numbered 466 men and was known as the “4-6” Infantry Regiment. It served in World War I and World War II. On November 3, 1926, the regiment was redesignated as the “2-4” Infantry Regiment and again served in World War II. The regiment disbanded on September 1, 1950.
Mansfield is a small town in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Mansfield is located in the southeast corner of Kaufman County and is bordered by Tyler to the north, Weimar to the east, Palestine to the south and Tyler Junior College to the west. The first settlers in Mansfield were farmers who arrived in 1851 from Kentucky. By 1870, there were nine families living in Mansfield. The oldest family still lives in Mansfield and has been farming since 1868. In 1896, cash crops such as corn and cotton were introduced into Mansfield and began to grow rapidly; this led to a rise in population over time. Today, Mansfield is home to many businesses including banks (four of which are national), insurance companies (three of which are national), restaurants/cafés/bars/taverns (six), health care providers (six) and a library (three). In addition, six schools serve residents of Mansfield: three elementary schools; one middle school; one high school; two post-secondary institutions - Tyler Junior College and Prairie View A&M University - both of which have campuses within walking distance of each other; as well as an agricultural research center run by Texas A&M University-Commerce that provides support for various aspects of agriculture throughout Kaufman County.

Mansfield is a town in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 907 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1881 by J.D. Mansfield and his family. Mansfield is located in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex on I-635 and U.S. Highway 69/US 287 north of Dallas within the greater Arlington area of Irving, Texas. Mansfield was part of the original 254 counties of Texas when it was organized in 1876. The name "Mansfield" comes from General David MansFIELD's march into Tyler to take possession of that city after its victory over Mexican forces at the Battle of Palo Alto on October 6, 1847 which ended Texan independence from Mexico for two years (1846-48). The town site was chosen because it afforded a good view of Sam Houston Park and because John Denton had been born there in 1824 and became one of the most prominent citizens of Mansfield Township before he moved to Georgetown in Medina County some time later. In 1880, Jardine Denton married Emmeline Youngblood who also gave rise to one other important person associated with Mansfield during this early period; her sister Alice Greenlaw Hebert (1863-1914) cofounded The University Settlement Company which operated a day school outside Mansfield until 1915 when it moved into its current building on Elm Street near Market Square where it remains today as an educational institution catering to all social levels including preparatory through college level students as well as adults! In 1922 Drs Jane Goodall (1868-1954), Lucien Peake (1900-1976), Edward Condon (1892-1966) arrived from Africa bringing with them over 60 years' experience working with chimpanzees and other primates at Zoos de France where they were head veterinarians for more than ten years! Today their Chimpanzee Museum has five exhibit rooms filled with artwork, tools, costumes, physical specimens & historical memorabilia dating back to 1911 documenting their work with captive chimpanzees around the world!
