The history of gourmet coffee in Longview, Texas goes back to the early 1800s. One of the first coffeehouses in the area was The Coffee House on Lamar Street. In 1828, John Fenton opened his own store in Longview and began selling coffee named after plants found near his farm: Oakdale, Cherry Blossom, and Turkey Shoot. By 1830, Fenton had built a large log mansion on State Highway 82 that served as his retail headquarters for many years. In 1892, George Averill started operating Averill's Coffee House in Longview. He was one of the earliest businesses to sell whole beans direct to consumers instead of through roasters or distributors. In 1907, Averill's moved its business into a new building on Elm Street that still stands today. The original owners were JF&G Richardson who ran it until 1951 and then WK Richardson who continued it until 1978. In 1923, Donatus Coffee Company was founded by Homer Liles with two locations in Longview – one at Seventh and Center Streets and another at 16th and I-35E. Donatus became well-known for their high quality roast beans and delicious blended coffees which were sold both online and offline throughout Texas statewide. In 2006–2007 Liles' son Jay decided to close all but one store due to financial difficulties – he reopened one location under the new name Longhorn Coffee Co., LLC (Longhorn) later that year before closing again in 2009 due to even more financial difficulties. Following the closure of Longhorn Coffee Company LP, long distance coffee operations shifted from Houston TX to Longview TX as a result of an increase demand for Gourmet Coffee products statewide from local customers across multiple counties including Travis County (East Austin), Williamson County (West Williamson), Webb County (Southwest Travis), Hogg County (Central Hogg), Chambers County (Northwest Chambers), Milam County (Southwestern Milam) & Brown County (Northeast Brown). The birth of gourmet coffee in Longview, Texas can be traced back to the early 1900s. In that decade, two men named Harry and Edwin Weismuller opened a small café called The Dutchman's Coffee Shop on State Street in Longview. They served a variety of coffee drinks, including Turkish coffee, joe warmers, and AeroPress coffee. In the 1940s, the Weismuller brothers merged their business with another cafe called The Rooster. This new firm became known as The Gourmet Coffee Shop. Over the years, they added various flavors of espresso to their menu and began serving custom-made espresso drinks such as tiramisu and cappuccino. Today, The Gourmet Coffee Shop is one ofLongview's oldest and most popular businesses. Their espresso drinks are still enjoyed by locals and tourists alike, and their unique atmosphere has helped them stay afloat for over fifty years!
Longview is located in Galveston County, Texas, on the Texas Gulf Coast. The population was 3,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. For most of its history, Longview was a small town numbering only around 100 residents. However, over time it has become a busy commercial and industrial center with a large number of businesses and homes. Today Longview is known for its rich culture and history as well as its many attractions including several golf courses and an amusement park.
There is no one definitive history of gourmet coffee, as it has evolved and changed over time. However, some key points to consider include the origins of espresso, how coffee became associated with luxury goods such as caviar and roasts that were often unique to specific regions or countries, and how coffee became a popular beverage in developed countries such as Europe and North America. Espresso first originated in Italy in the 16th century. The earliest espresso machines used a type of water pump that forced hot water through small screens into a small metal pot (the bean was ground into a very fine powder). Coffee beans were then placed in the top part of the machine where it would cool and set before being pulled through a smaller screen into the larger pot below. In 1847, Italian chef Giuseppe Cesare Martini invented an espresso machine that used pressure from weights to produce high-quality coffee without using any grounds. This machine allowed for more detailed flavor extraction which gave rise to what we now know as percolators. The first industrial-scale espresso production took place in Milan, Italy in 1912 thanks to Luigi Beccaria who opened his own café called La Caffè Milano on Via della Contea. At this point, Italians began drinking espresso not only for its intense flavor but also for its health benefits – it was thought at the time that caffeine could help improve focus and vigilance; be helpful when dealing with stressors like war or childbirth; promote better sleep patterns; and reduce anxiety levels among people working long hours. The popularity of espresso soon spread throughout Europe and North America following World War I when many European soldiers returned home with an appreciation for premium coffee products like Espresso Martini. In 1923, Swiss chemist August Heinecke developed an improved method for manufacturing milk-based beverages which led to the birth of pour-over coffee brewers ( aka conical brewers). As technology continued refinement throughout the 20th century, so too did gourmet coffee products become increasingly standardized – even down to their ingredients! For example, all modern drip coffeemakers use instant cafeterias grade Arabica beans whereas earlier models used lower quality Robusta beans which can result in more bitterness or fragility. Additionally, most modern cafes now offer both Turkish Coffee - made from ground cardamom pods & sultanas - along with Decaf Green Coffee - which contains less caffeine than regular green coffee - as well as various blends thereof across different regions/countries around the world

Longview is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 592 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area. Longview was founded in 1872 by pioneer settlers John and Jemima Hodge and their families. The post office was first established in 1875. In 1886, Longview became part of the new Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area and began to experience growth as a bedroom community for the larger city center. In response to this growth, Mayor Harry Wigginton proposed that Longview be incorporated as a municipality in 1889. When it was determined that incorporation would not create enough municipal services to support the large population increase, Mayor Wigginton instead recommended that Longview become an unincorporated community with own governance and police department under the direction of a committee appointed by him with responsibility for secure housing, education, water supply and other municipal needs. Incorporation took place on January 15th of 1890 and officially became known as "Longview". The early years of LongVIEW were difficult due to lack of resources including water which made irrigation necessary for many crops while also providing pollutions from nearby towns such as Arlington (now Richardson). However through hard work by residents along with donations from friends and family members local businesses flourished such as: A & J insurance company (later Donaldson Bros.), Red Lobster seafood restaurant, Mrs Sayers grocery store (later Sears), Ladd’s hardware store, Dr Pepper Bottles product line began production here in 1922-1924 Additionally during these years many famous athletes began their careers or studied at Lone Star College Men’s Gymnasium here including future Texas governor Rick Perry In 1925 President Coolidge delivered his State of the Union Address which called attention to issues affecting Texans including inadequate school systems among others but did not mention LongVIEW specifically In 1933 Franklin D Roosevelt was elected president and soon after proposing legislation designed to improve educational opportunities throughout America he stated “There can be no more Old Boys Society than there is now between Dallas…and Austin” therefore improving opportunities were given for all citizens regardless race or ethnicity making LongVIEW one step closer towards becoming truly diverse . Many things have changed since then such as annexation into Arlington creating even more suburban development however much remains about this historic

The town of Longview was founded by Miles Long in 1879. The town was named after Major General James H. Long, who fought in the Mexican-American War and served as a brigadier general in the Texas Army during the American Civil War.
